"-and she's so...she's just amazing! The way her eyes shine and her light rose perfume-" Shouto stopped hearing his mother's voice chuckle.
"What is it mother?" Shouto asked tilting his head slightly.
Her usual small smile had widened, "Shouto you are really in love."
Shouto's cheeks slightly turned red at this.
"But Shouto why don't you tell Momo?"
The boy froze, feeling his guilt creep up behind him. A frown making its way to his lips.
"She...she's going to get hurt once I tell her. I don't want that for my friend..." He mumbled to her.
Rei sighed, "Shouto, she's going to get more hurt if you don't tell her soon."
Shouto was silent, he held his mother's hand. But as soon as he felt the small squeeze her hand gave he felt reassured. He mustered up a smile.
"I-I'll try to tell her." Shouto stuttered.
His mother gave him a close eyes smile, "Okay, and remember...I will always be there whatever your choices are."
His smile widened at this, "Thank you"
He stood up from his chair, letting go of her hand. "I must get going now. See you soon mother." He waved to her.
She waved back. She followed his figure leaving out the door. She sighed again, "I hope Yaoyorozu will be okay..." ~~~~~~
News had spread in the class. Mina had accidentally spilled out to the girls, excluding Yaoyorozu, about who they saw Shouto with. The girls had agreed that he should be the one to say the news to Momo. But Hagakure had accidentally spilled the news to Ojiro. And Ochako had also accidentally spilled the news to Midoriya and Iida. And well, it was all a series of accidental confessions of the news. When everyone but Yaoyorozu and Shouto had known, they had all agreed to be mindful of what their saying.
The next day Momo and Shouto together, went inside class. Everyone had been acting normal, Mina and Hagakure had slightly distanced themselves so they wouldn't accidentally spill the beans. Jirou talked to her as usual, taking her mind of Shouto. And Shouto talked with Midoriya, Uraraka, and Iida. Midoriya had been nervously stuttering, which had Shouto suspicious about him. Uraraka elbowed him when the half and half boy wasn't looking, Midoriya took this as a sign to stop being suspicious. He tried, but he couldn't stop the nervous stuttering thinking of the news that is known by everyone in class 2-A.
"Midoriya can I privately talk with you?" Shouto requested and everyone who heard it had turned nervous, including Jirou.
"S-S-Sure!" Midoriya responded, he followed Shouto out of the classroom.
Jirou's palms were sweaty, she had fired out topic after topic at Momo to distract her from looking at Shouto and to also distract herself.
"Why are you so nervous Midoriya? And also the whole class seems to be slightly nervous too. Jirou is more nervous than before, she looked like she was sweating but it is cold in the classroom." Shouto saw how Midoriya shook intensely at his position and he started to stutter profusely.
"W-W-W-We-Well u-uhm I-I uh"
"Midoriya, are you hiding something from me?" Shouto asked.
Midoriya had sweated more, his stuttering had increased, his jittering more intensed. Not because he asked, slightly yes. But because of the cold and scary tone the zuko ripoff had used. His heterochromia eyes piercing to his forest green ones.
"Midoriya tell me what the class is hiding." Shouto had the feeling that someone had followed him up the hill where him and Y/n met. And he was afraid this might be it.
"..."
Shouto had not realized it but Midoriya had started crying.
Was it a really important secret?
"Midoriya I'm sorry for forcing you I-"
"Why would you do that to Yaoyorozu-san? She is a nice person Todoroki-kun! I don't get why you would replace her..."
Shouto felt the same guilt yesterday build up. But the guilt had mixed with frustration. He furrowed his eyebrows at him.
"Don't you get it Midoriya? Momo's not my soulmate. I met Y/n and that's when I felt the joy I've never felt in my entire life. She makes me happy Midoriya. I know it's unfair to Momo, but I love Y/n.."
Midoriya was speechless, he saw the way his eyes shined in joy when he talked about this Y/n...and Momo wasn't his soulmate? His father was forcing him to marry someone who isn't for him?
"Todoroki-kun I'm sorry for thinking that you don't care about Yaoyorozu..." Midoriya apologized. Wiping the stray tears on his eyes.
And that's when things got silent.
Shouto coughed, "We should head back inside..."
Midoriya agreed and went inside, everyone's head turned to them. And they saw the slight redness of Midoriya's face and they knew he cried. Momo also saw. And she asked Jirou about it and she replied with: "Maybe they talked about All Might or something, you know how emotional Midoriya can get."
"Yeah..." ~~~~~~~~~~
"Stop being so emotional! And start to build that self-confidence!" Akiko exclaimed hitting her friend's face with a pillow.
"B-But Yaoyorozu is so nice and pretty, I remember her from the sport's festival...and I don't want her to be heartbroken..." Y/n cried. She had re-watched the sport's festival from last year and she remembered how Momo looked so disappointed when she lost to Tokoyami.
"Worry about yourself more not other people! Y/n you have to stop thinking about her for just a minute." Her friend pleaded.
Y/n sighed, maybe Akiko was right. Maybe she had to think about herself more. Those nights of crying were getting slightly often...
