-Torcher's POV-

We were all ecstatic! Our long awaited family reunion had come at last, and there was laughter and cheering so loud you'd probably be able to hear us a mile away. Aruba swiftly pulled me and Soldier into a tight hug, which did hurt my arm, but at this point, I didn't care.
With tears in my eyes, I slowly left Soldier's arms to shakily stand up, but was soon toppled over by a huge group hug (or more like a dog pile). This was the most warmth I'd felt in ages, and without hesitation, I just melted into all my friends' embrace.
"You'd better not fall asleep on us, Torcher, cause the party's just starting!" declared Aruba.
"Yeah, yeah, I'll try."
Once I opened my eyes though, I noticed George just staring off into space with a grim expression on his face. Before I could say anything, Soldier had gotten to him, first.
"Don't be so glum, George. You're not getting left out, on this!" he said.
"Thanks.., but I'm fine..."
As soon as I could break out of the excited crowd, I'd already started lightly running over towards them.
"Yeah! You're like a part of our little family, so no one gets left behind." I declared, trying to lift his spirits.
"I appreciate it, but I just can't celebrate while my own family is still out there, suffering..."
...
There was silence for a moment while the two of us were carefully planning our next moves. Any amount of enthusiasm I'd had only mere moments ago had disappeared.
"We're almost there, kid." Soldier said, getting down on one knee. "This isn't just a celebration for us Soldier's, it's for all of us. We're really here to celebrate our victory against this virus! Now, before we go back into the fray to finish this, come have some fun with us. Very soon, we'll all have to work to regulate our everyday lives, get things back to normal, and some of us might never see each other again. Especially when we'll have our families to take care of, again."
George just stood there for a moment, clear shock and disbelief in his eyes, but there was something else there. You could see the smallest sparkle in his eye when he was pulled from the sadness of his dark thoughts.
"For now, until we find your real family, try and consider us like one. We'll stick together and look out for each other till the day we can reunite you with them."
Finally, he smiled and looked up to us.
"Right, I have to stay positive!"
He went in between us, taking both of our hands and leading us towards the welcoming crowd.
"Come on! There's no need to be shy, now."
Soldier and I looked back at each other before smiling. Nothing could ruin this moment for us, tonight!
Well... almost nothing...

-Pony's POV-

This was one of the few times I'd ever taken a break since the beginning of this madness. My mind had been entirely focused on fixing all our problems that I'd forgotten to really take time and enjoy the positive things. Out of our entire state and then some which had been infected, I was one of the few who had lasted to bring an end to this, alongside my friends. That is deserving of a break, right?
"I wish this moment could last forever..." I heard Zizzy say as she walked up beside me, making me jump.
"Yeah. Everybody seems so happy that they even got George to smile!"
"Heh... It has been a while, hasn't it?"
For a moment, we both stood there in comfortable silence, watching the party carry on before us. My smile faded a little as my mind kept thinking about our next battle. This was it, where it would all end.
"Are you okay?" Zizzy asked me.
"It's just that with the amount of the infected that are coming after us... some of us will surely turn. When they do, I'm not sure we'll stand as much of a chance."
"We just need to have faith in them and remember that it'll be all over, soon."
She patted me on the shoulder and went off to go do a final check on Torcher's wounds. Even with her words of comfort, still, I couldn't shake the feeling that we'd be utterly hopeless, that something bad would happen.
I kept my sword close at all times, examining to occupy myself. It wasn't the most impressive of swords. After all, it was just basic and wooden, not all that complicated. But, even after I tried distracting myself for a while, occasionally faking a positive attitude to the others who passed me.
Almost every other minute, I felt a cold sweat run down my spine. I'm not sure how to shake this horrible feeling, and even if they may not believe me...
Something bad is gonna happen.
