Chapter 15 a rescue far too late

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away

At one point or another you must except failure

On Ponorma captain Sidon Ithano was with his crew at a local pub laughing and singing together. The captain sat at the bar with Quiggold and Squeaky when Reventh came up behind them. "Captain I've heard about some treasure" she whispered as she walked beside him her captain looked at the red twe'lek "what treasure is it?" He questioned and she smirked. "A separatist dreadnought not located too far from here" and Immediately the captain chocked "what, you mean one of those things found back during the clone wars" she nodded and smiled as her captain laughed he turned to the rest of his crew "come on, were leaving" the group got up from the stools and walked towards the exit but the pub owner called them back.

"Hey you didn't pay for drinks"

Ithano looked back at the boss and sighed "I'm sorry" he lifted up his blaster and shot the man right in chest and everyone inside screamed,

"Don't worry it's only a small bullet hole" Ithano joked as his crew left for the separatist ship.

Finally they had arrived and headed inside and saw many destroyed battle droids littered the hallways but some of them were intact and had just powered down.

"This place stinks of oil and shit" Quiggold chuckled and Ithano looked back at his crew member I don't know why it stinks of shit as I don't think there is any life forms on the ship. The crew traveled through the dark walls ways. The only sound that could be heard was them bickering to each other and their footsteps. "Where is the treasure" Squeaky snarled and Ithano pat the gamorrean on the shoulder to comfort him. "don't worry my large friend Reveth is never wrong" the captain reassured.

"Yeah well she was last time" Quiggold growled at the twe'lek "yeah well last time we didn't actually find what we were looking for this time we've actually found what we're looking for".

Eventually the group went in towards the front of the ship and looked around in a room and found nothing. "You said, there was treasure" Quiggold pushed Reveth "there is just not in this room" she replied but Quiggold wasn't buying it "just admit it they lied to you and since your so gullible" Quiggold replied and as the 2 argued Ithano looked up at the ceiling and was surprised at what he saw and he called to the others "I found the treasure just not what I expected" the others came over and saw what they're captain was looking at all eyes widened on a frozen clone trooper.

"Is that what I think it is" Reveth called out.

Sidon turned to Squeaky "get him down" he ordered and the gamorrean shot the panel and out fell a clone trooper hitting the ground really hard. So hard infact that the B1-CC14 the battle droid commander woke up from fifty years of resting and as the droid sat up he looked and saw there was a breach "what!" The droid then switched on all deactivated battle droids to head to sector 2B. The clone coughed as he looked up at the 4 who stood before him he breathed heavily aswell. "Are you okay?" Reveth questioned as she walked beside him and he shook his head "no,no I'm not I need to head back to general Skywalker and Captain Rex to tell them about the plot to destroy the Jedi". The crew all looked at each other and slowly the group's eyes fell upon the clone medic who was slowly getting to his feet.

"Umm, do you know how long you were in there for" Sidon asked

Kix shook his head and coughed "no, why?"

"Because you can't tell the Jedi since their all gone" Sidon announced and the clone's eyes widened from it took a minute but he finally looked back at the captain "how long has it been" water filled Kix's eyes and Reveth answered him with sorrow filling her tone "the clone wars ended 50 years ago".

Kix didn't move he fell back onto his knees slowly processing what he had just heard as tears fell down his cheeks shamelessly "I was too late" he muttered as he got back to his feet.

"Are you gonna be alright" Squeaky asked but before Kix could reply red blaster bolts filled the room and the group ran out of the way.

"Clankers" Kix shouted as he ducked for cover as Sidon's group opened fire as the B1 battle droids marched into the room. Reveth turned to the 501st medic "do you have a blaster?" She questioned and he shook his head and at that moment Reveth shot down a battle droid and took its blaster and handed to Kix "now you do" she said once he had it. Kix didn't like using the battle droids weapons but at this point he had no choice it was kill or be killed. Kix opened fire as the group made there way through and since the droids were old they weren't as clever or as fast as they used to be but it all changed once destroyers rolled down the hallways. Kix ran behind cover and he said to himself "I've never killed one of these guys" then Quiggold called him "hey clone" and he looked at him.

"Take this" he threw Kix a detonator and the clone medic threw it at the 2 destroyers blowing the to bits. As the group carried on through the separatist hallways B1-CC14  watched their every move "send more droidcas" he ordered but a battle droid looked up at CC14 "but sir were out" and the battle droid commander slammed his hand on the chair "blast" he cursed. "Send our remaining forces towards the group we can not allow them to take the clone".

"But sir, they already have the clone and we only have a spare 98 battle droids"

"Fine I'm going my self" CC14 spoke in annoyance"

The crew battle there way through the last few battle droids and as they ran towards the exit CC14 and the remaining battle droids stood before them.

"Give us back our prisoner, we need him so we can hand him back to Count Dooku" CC14 announced and the group opened which made the battle droids open fire aswell.

"How are we meant to get through that" Reveth snarled at her captain and he thought to himself trying to think up a plan but then Kix saw a button which would realise water and battle droids could power through water but their aim became off. "I have a plan" the clone said as he smacked the button making all the water fall down and then the group managed to power through the battle droids who could not see their target and were blasted down because of it. Finally the group had made it out of the separatist dreadnought and once they were a safe distance away the crew celebrated their survival apart for Kix who stood away from them remembering General Skywalker, Jesse, Rex he sighed as he fe,t like they were the only true soul survivors of the 501st of course there was Appo but he was different he was a by the book clone and never really talked with the group so it was just Rex, Jesse and Kix but since Kix left it was just Rex and Jesse.

"Hey" Sidon alone from behind Kix.

Kix turned to face the captain "listen what you did back there was nothing short of incredible and we need someone with all this information about these separatist bases and since my group is a little small I was wondering if you wanted to join us" Sidon asked and he extended his hand and Kix seeing no where else to go shook the captains hand.

"Kix, my name is Kix" the clone smirked and Sidon smiled back.

"Welcome to the family Kix"

The battle for Anaxes was won and just after the battle Rex had just been informed about the medical transport being attacked and killing everyone on board although Kix's body wasn't found it was presumed that he was launched off into space. Rex entered the barracks and saw Jesse stretching he went up behind his brother "hey Jesse" he spoke sorrow filled his voice and Jesse turned and smiled at his captain.

"What is it sir"

"Something had happened to the medical transport that Kix was on" Jesse immediately frowned and tilted his head.

"Go on"

"It was attacked by separatist, there were no survivors"

Jesse breathed in water overcame his eyes as Rex said the words.

"Will you be okay?" Rex questioned and Jesse put on a forced smile and nodded "yeah, yes sir I'll be okay I always am". Rex knew his brother wasn't taking this well so he embraced his brother and Jesse cried in his captain's grip he knew that Kix and Jesse were very close as they had been friends ever since Kix was transferred to Jesse's squad all those years ago on Kamino. They both fought in the same first battle the battle wasn't Geneosis but it was close to the start of the clone wars and now he was gone like all the others.
