I looked at my wrist for the time as we are strolling on the streets, following where he's going to take me. After yesterday, he's been really talkative, and I somehow liked how he's doing right now. "Where are we going today?" I asked, and I saw him lifting his whiteboard on his forearm, writing on the board. 'I have this place I always wanted to check out with you. I guess you'll see Satang.' His writing said to me while we arrived at a bus stop and a bus pulled over on it.The bus doors opened, hopping inside, quickly scanning through to the back of the seat to find an empty place just four rows from the very end of the buss. We promptly walked there, setting ourselves to sit, this time with me by the window and Tatsuya, sitting to the aisle. "It's very unusual of you to choose the aisle seat, Tatsuya." The tone of my voice asked, pitched somewhat.
I heard his breath of chuckle with his little smirk while he set his backpack to the front, then unzipping it open. From inside, he took out his phone, scrolling down through the internet, and finally showed me something on with his screen. "Bukhansan National Park?" He nodded and then opened his note app, typing. 'i always go to this place when I feel like making a piece. This place has given me a lot of inspiration.' I read the words typed inside his note app.
"So, are you like, going to make a new piece there?" I asked, and he nodded quickly, starting to type on his phone again. 'I kinda feel like making a new piece today, so I figured that maybe you wanted to check how the process goes like.' I hummed, nodding with a little pout on. "Arrasseo..."
He put inside his whiteboard and marker inside his backpack, zipping it close. I looked away to a distance, outside the window, and somehow felt butterflies inside my chest. Maybe, I'm just excited to see him, making his piece, how he composed it, and how handsome he looks when he plays. I quickly shook the thought off, and out of nowhere, I somehow leaned my head to the side, on his shoulder.
I looked at his face while still leaning my side on his shoulder and found him asleep with his arms crossed. I reached my hand to run through my fingers on his slim jawline, carefully not to wake him up from his sleep. I then played with his hair, twirling his black hair and thought, Maybe I am falling for him. I curled back my lips, curving a tight-lipped smile, and snuggled my side on him.
[...]
I felt a light nudge on my side, slowly opening my eyes, scanning my surroundings, and Tatsuya smiling at my face. "Mwo? are we here?" I asked, and he nodded with his small smile. I moved my body to sit up, fixing my hair and outfit before standing up from my seat. I walked, just a step away from Tatsuya, following him going outside the bus and "Lead me the way, Tatsuya." He breathed a chuckle and gently grabbed my wrist, pulling me to follow him inside the park.
I sped up my walking to align myself with him, walking beside him with his hand holding mine. "Do you have a specific spot you always come to?" I asked, looking at his side, turning on me. He pulled his hand from the pocket of his hoodie, his phone on his hand, typing. He showed me his phone screen, 'Yeah, and no. I usually go around the place first before actually writing the piece.' I nodded, and "So is this like a date then?" Gosh, Sana. You're definitely going to regret saying that later.
He smirked, pulling his phone's screen back to type again, 'it can be, anything you want to interpret this to be, Satang.' My eyes were widened, reading the text typed in, and I feel my cheeks are heating up. 'why are your cheeks so red, clumsy squirrel.' I read his text again, typed on his phone. I shoved him with my side, and soft laughs were coming from him with me pouting at his teasing text.
After walking around for a while, he finally stopped under a tree where a bench was located just under it. He turned his face to look up and somehow, magically, a brown leave falling slowly, down to his face, and he caught it in mid-air. He closed his eyes for a solid minute, opening his eyes again with a smile on.
He brought me to sit down on the bench and set his backpack down, taking out his violin case. He opened the locks to his violin case, opening the case to reveal the violin he always uses. Before taking out the violin, he pulled a paper from a small opening inside his case, unfolding it. There was a writing on it, a lot of scratches of pen on it but I saw and can read the title. Hate My Luck?
He started writing on the paper, his face focused, and his fingers were picking the strings of his violin. He then breathed out a long deep sigh, and nodding his head lightly while he sets the violin at the crook of his neck and the bow on the strings, playing the song quietly while paying attention closely to the paper.
He then began to freestyle the melody, trying, which is good for the continuation of his peace until he found one and started to play it over and over again. The melodies were beautiful, yet I feel a depressing vibe coming from it. It's like he's delivering his last message with his violin. I swallowed down the thought of him, actually taking his life away right after playing this to me, and it felt painful to my chest. Please don't let it happen, God.
You're not horrible or unlucky, Tatsuya. You're just special. I thought as I'm feeling the blues coming from each note he's playing out of his violin. He stopped playing, going back to his notes, writing on the paper with his pen again, and his lips started pursing to the side. "What is it? What's wrong?" I asked, and he immediately shrugged his shoulders. He then started to stand up to play the piece he just corrected, this time the full version to his piece, beginning to end.
The melodies made a subtle pain in my heart, imagining how it would be if he were really going to end his life after playing the piece. I felt my eyes are slowly soaking and dripping a tear down my cheeks as I immediately wiped off my face for him not to notice it.
