Chapter 4 : Be Brave

Kaye gained consciousness inside a dark room.  She started crying . If only she didn't follow the man , she wouldn't be in a place like this . What would she do now?  Her friends might have been worried already. 
After a moment , she heard sobs .
Was it possible she's not the only person in this room? 
"Who are you?  " she asked in the dark .
The sobs suddenly stopped.
She felt scared .
"Anybody there? "
She felt frustrated . She couldn't see anything.  It's too dark .
"It's me , Angelica . " the voice finally answered .
"Angelica? I'm also here . It's me , Pamela . " another voice answered .

Wait! 
Angelica and Pamela were also here . Why?  How did it happen? 

"Guys , it's me Kaye . " she said .

Pamela felt relieved . They were here after all . The only problem was how to get out of the place .
"Angelica , Kaye , are you both okay? Did you get hurt?  " Pamela asked .

"No, I'm not . What about you Angelica?  " Kaye asked .
"I was stabbed by a knife . But , I'm okay . The wound isn't too deep . I was really scared before but now that you're here I feel safe . My wound doesn't matter anymore . " Angelica replied .

They wanted to hug each other but they were quite far . If they moved a little bit , it might alarm the culprit .

"Angelica , don't tell me you've been here for 2 nights already?  Have you eaten anything? " Pamela asked .

"No, in fact I'm really hungry.  My energy is draining . "

"Goodness!  What should we do? " Kaye asked .

"I don't know . Why do you think this thing happened to us?  " Pamela asked out of the blue .

"I had no idea . We're not bad people, right? "

"Of course , why did you say that Angelica? " Kaye asked .

"No reason at all. " Angelica replied .

After a while , they heard heavy footsteps . It came nearer to the room . The footsteps stopped when it reached at the door.
Suddenly , the door opened .A little light entered the room .
They saw a man carrying something .
Something?  No . It looked like a person. The person looked thin and taller . She has long curly hair . Angelie?  They thought .
But Angelie was studying faraway . How did she get here? Was she abducted too ?
Confusion started to envelop their minds .

"Who are you? " Kaye bravely asked ."Why are you doing these to us?  "

Instead of answering , the man laughed crazily .
Then he left the room .

"Angelie , are you okay?  " Pamela asked.

But she couldn't speak . Her mouth was covered with a handkerchief .

The door suddenly opened again. 

"Do not try to escape . You cannot get out of here alive.  " he warned .

"What do you want from us?  " Kaye asked .

"You little lady , you look brave but it's pointless . So , shut up . "

"Tell us what you want from us " Pamela interrupted .

"What do I want?  Simple.  Nobody has ever got out of this place alive until your group came . You broke the fear of the villagers . Now , I need to make sure your existence will be forgotten . It's payback time  " the man said with vengeance in his eyes .
"But ,we didn't do anything wrong . We never told it to anybody . " Kaye tried to reason the man .
"Shut up!  " the man suddenly fired his gun.
"Ahhhhhhhh! "
The girls screamed. 

Fortunately , he wasn't pointing it to any of them .
The girls in the room were all scared . They had no strength to fight the man .

"Do you want to die , now?  "

They were trembling in fear .
The man left the room again .

"What should we do?  " Angelica whispered .

" We need to find a way out here.  If we don't , we're all going to die here.  " Pamela said. "But first , we need to untie our hands . "

"How are we supposed to do that?  " they both asked .
"Can you move your hands?  " Pamela asked.

"I think , I can . " Angelica said. 

"I also can. " Kaye added.

"Okay , I'll move closer to you Kaye. Then , try to untie me . " Pamela said .

So , Pamela carefully crawled on to the direction of Kaye but she was bit far .
"He'll notice the noise . " Angelica whispered ."I think Angelie is saying something "

"Angelie , are you okay?  " Can you move closer to me instead ? " Kaye asked .

Angelie nodded  . She started to untie Kaye's hands . Even though it's a little bit hard . She must do it successfully . After several attempts , the rope finally untied . She was glad .
"Thank you. " Kaye said . "Now it's my turn to release all of you. "
"Quick , Kaye ! " Angelica said.
She untied Angelie first removing the handkerchief on her mouth and releasing her hands . 
Angelie  took a deep breath .
Then , she untied Angelica while Kaye helped Pamela .
After everything , their hands were freed . The next move was how to get out of the room . They tried pulling the doorknob but it was locked. Of course , what else did they expect? 

"Where are we? Why did he say we can't get out of here?  " Angelica asked.

"We are inside the forest . " Angelie said .

"What forest?  This is a room. " Kaye said .

"The same forest a year ago . I knew it because I came here by myself . " Angelie continued. "I received a message from Angelica telling me not to tell other people . When I reached here , I couldn't find Angelica . So , I shouted . The man suddenly appeared and carried me here . I was very afraid that I thought I was going to die . This house is located at the middle of the forest . From a distance it looked like a very big old tree but it's a house . "
"So , how do we get out of here ? "
"We need to use the window . " Angelica said .
"A window?  I didn't notice any window here . " Pamela said .
"Yes , there is . I saw it yesterday . The ray of light entered the room through the window .The problem is the window is quite high and a little bit small. But Angelie and Kaye can pass through .  "
"What about Pamela and you?  " Angelie asked.
"Don't worry about us.  We'll find other way to escape . "
"Let's do it quickly . When you managed to get out of here , you can tell other people to save us . Okay?" Pamela said .

They used Pamela as their stepping point to reach the window while Angelica pushed Angelie .
From the window , Angelie jumped to a branch of a tree she saw .
"Angelie , are you okay ? " they called out .
"Yes , I am. " she replied .

When it was Kaye's turn , they heard footsteps . The man was coming for them . Angelica immediately pushed Kaye out of the window . Good thing , Angelie immediately grabbed Kaye .

From outside , they heard the door opened. After a while ,they heard continuous  gunshots.
