Harry and Ginny stayed the night at Potter Cottage. Harry found two bags that Hermione must have sent to the Master bedroom. They woke up around 8:30 and had breakfast and gotten ready for the day. It was now 9:30 and they were getting ready to leave.
"Come on, Gin. Let's go!" Harry said, getting a bit annoyed that Ginny had to go back and fix her makeup.
"Coming! Coming!" Ginny exclaimed, coming down the stairs with the exact same makeup on.
"Come on, Gin, all we are doing is looking at an old house that I already own." Harry explained.
"Still, I wanted some nice makeup." Ginny said as she leaned up and kissed him. She always wore matte lipstick, so Harry didn't end up wearing any.
"Ok, I'm going to apparate and I'll send a patronus when you can floo over, just say Potter Manor and it should work. See you later." And Harry kissed her goodbye and apparated away.
Harry opened his eyes and found himself looking at a grand entrance. There were two staircases leading upstairs to the right and left. There was huge ceilings and the walls were a nice off white. There was a room to the left that appeared to be a formal sitting room. The right was just a bunch of pictures and stuff in a collage on the wall. There was also a little table to put keys and stuff when you walk in. Harry went back to the left and past the sitting room Harry turned to the left, and was met by 5 floo systems, aligned next to each other. They were against the back wall, and in between each fireplace, there was a pile of floo attached to the wall so it was around shoulder height. Harry saw the magical list attached to the wall somehow, and there weren't that many names on the list. There was:
James Potter*
Lily Potter*
Harry Potter
Sirius Black*
Alice Longbottom
Frank Longbottom
Neville Longbottom
Remus Lupin*
Peter Pettigrew*
Kingsley Shacklebolt
Albus Dumbledore*Harry immediately added Ginny's name and got rid of Peter, even though he was dead, Harry didn't even want to look at his name. Harry also added Hermione, Ron, Molly and Arthur. Ron had apologized for the fight they had. Harry forgave him easily, but Ginny was still salty about it. Harry added Bill, Charlie, George, Fred, and Luna. Even though Fred was gone, he still wanted him to be welcomed here. He then sent a patronus to Ginny, telling her to floo in.
Ginny arrived a few minutes later, tumbling out of the fireplace. She almost tripped coming out, but Harry caught her, knowing she was going to trip, because she always did.
"Thanks, love." Ginny said, kissing Harry. "I can never come out of these things properly."
Harry let go of her and just laughed. "Trust me, l know. Do you want to take a look around? I only saw what I saw from the front door before finding the floo systems."
"That would be nice." Ginny started to walk to the right, which led back to the main entryway. It was huge. Probably the entrance alone was the size of the burrow. "Wow. This place is huge."
"I saw. Come on, let's have a look around." Harry took her hand and they started walking around together.
Huge was an understatement. This place was ginormous. To the right of the two staircases, they past the entrance table and were met by a gigantic formal dining table. You could easily fit 60 people comfortably. There was also a kitchen on the other side. It was a very open floor plan. The tile throughout the house was meant to look like wood, but it was actually tile. It was a nice grey color. The cabinets were all a dark grey, so the tile was lighter. The countertop was a beautiful marble, and there were black barstools at the island so people could sit there if they would like. A/N Lily and James were quite modern. Harry already knew Molly would want to cook in this kitchen. They also had a gas stove with a pot filler, double ovens, and of course a microwave. They had a huge pantry, which was empty, obviously. There was a large array of kitchen supplies though. There was a pressure cooker, toaster, stand mixer, hand-held mixer, food processor, rice cooker, croc pot, waffle maker, coffee maker, blender, kettle, and a few other things. There was also a bunch of utensils, such as forks, spoons, knives, wooden spoons, spatulas, measuring cups, can opener, whisks, etc. they went to the next room, which was a soundproof movie theater. Harry spent around 20 minutes explaining what a movie was, and Ginny loved the idea of that. She told him she wanted to watch a movie as soon as possible. He promised they would get around to watching one soon. There were around 40 seats in the theater, and there was a 100 foot screen. In the back of the theater, where you entered, there was a popcorn machine with self-serve butter, and a large array of candy, which had an anti-stale charm on it. The chocolate section even had an anti-melting charm on it. They exited that room, and both grabbed a chocolate frog on the way out. They reached the end of the hall, and they crossed the hall beneath the stairs. There was a door that Harry knew was underneath the stairs. It gave him flashbacks of his time at the Dursley's. He saw Uncle Vernon grabbing him by the ear and throwing him in the cupboard. He saw Dudley punching him into the cupboard. He saw his busted lip and the scars on his back. He saw himself wincing in pain with every move he made because of broken ribs. He saw himself in a ball on his bed, trying to stop the stomach pain from not eating in 2 weeks. Harry started staring off into space, staring at the cupboard door. Tears started to gather in his eyes.
"Harry?" Ginny was waving her hand in front of Harry's face. No answer. "Harry?" Ginny repeated, snapping her fingers a few times in front of his face.
"Huh? What?" Harry snapped his head to look at her. Tears still evident in his eyes but he blinked them back quickly.
"What's wrong, Harry?" Ginny asked softly, reaching up and brushing his hair back, which usually relaxed him.
"Nothing. I'm fine." Harry turned away from her. He had never fully explained what the Dursley's did to him. It was hard to talk about because it scarred his life. More that Voldemort even. He didn't want to talk about it ever.
"Don't lie to me, Potter." Ginny snapped sternly. Harry turned back to face her. As soon as she saw his face, her eyes and voice softened. "Harry, I know you are not fine. You need to tell me what's wrong. Whatever it is I can see it's bothering you. Come on, you need to talk about it." She led him back the way they came, and they sat in the formal sitting room in the entry. Ginny pulled Harry to the loveseat and sat down. He sat beside her, and immediately put his head in his hands, combing his hair furiously with his fingers, something he does when he's really stressed.
"Hey, look at me." Ginny said, pulling Harry's hands away. He held one of his hands between hers on her lap. She started playing with his fingers. "Just tell me, love. Why are you so stressed? Tell me what's wrong." Ginny spoke softly.
"Gin, I can't. I can't tell you. You will think of me different, you will look at me different. I don't even know if I can explain it." Harry looked down staring at his loose hand.
Ginny squeezed his hand between hers comfortingly. "I would never think of you differently, love. Just tell me what's wrong."
"Alright." Harry took in a shaky breath. "I guess I should start at the beginning....
