Chapter 5

Hayley's POV

After the beta- Leo left, a female wolf came and brought me some clothes, explaining that the Edward wanted to see me in his office. Considering I was technically a rogue, i didn't look too bad. The clothes were nice. A pair of dark blue skinny jeans, paired with an black tank top and a chestnut cardigan. I tied my hair back in a knot since i didn't have a hair band or anything; then made my way to the door that was labelled 'Alpha's Office'

The door was slightly ajar but when i peered slightly through the crack I was met with a nasty surprise. Sat on the desk, in a very tight miniskirt was a she-wolf, locking lips with the alpha. I shuddered slightly but took a step back and knocked on the door. I heard a grunt but soon the door was opened and Edward stood giving me a glare
"I'm busy, so this had better be important"
I held back a growl but felt a pang of hurt in my chest, and my breathing got harder. Trying to calm myself, I looked up at him.
"You asked for me to come see you, alpha"
I knew that by drawing out the last word he would get pissed but frankly, i didn't care. How dare he be making out with random she-wolves when he might have just found his mate! It made me sick to my stomach.

A growl left his lips as he roughly grabbed my arm and pushed me in the office. I accidentally let out a snarl and stepped away from him as he slammed the door shut behind me with earth shattering force. His eyes went glassy and I'm sure he mind linked someone but I didn't care that much. What caught my attention was the glare that was being given to me by the she-wolf. As I was about to question her, Edward started stalking towards me.
"I demand your respect, you have no right to speak to me at all, nevermind with such a sarcastic tone"
I scoffed at his words and this enraged him even more, ending up with me pinned against a wall
"what's the matter alpha, am i the first she-wolf who isn't afraid of you, and doesn't want to become you whore."
As the words left my mouth I saw the she-wolf from earlier start walking towards me, but Edward sent her a deadly glare
"Crystal back off, I need her alive for another 3 weeks, then i can reject her and claim you as my mate"

Those words hit me harder than I could have ever imagined, A sense of burning filled my entire body as I watched Edward walk over to Crystal and kiss her roughly. As their lips met, he glanced at me with a smirk. Suddenly the pain was too much, I let out a scream- that turned into a howl and suddenly the sky outside became black and thundery. Edward and Crystal both froze as they watched me fall to the floor, and the warm summery day turned into a gloomy thunderstorm. Tears filled my eyes as I struggled to keep myself from passing out...
Until it all stopped as their lips pulled away from each other.

Leo's POV

I was in the gym when I heard it, or more specifically- when I felt it. A howl erupted from upstairs and my wolf was sent into blind panic. He scratched for control and I felt myself running faster than ever before. I dont know how I got there but as I burst into the office,the howling stopped and I was met with silence. At first I just saw Edward with that whore girlfriend of his. When I looked closer their expressions were very different. Edward was wearing a smirk, and his eyes were cold, focusing on something. Crystal, however, looked completely terrified and a little jealous, looking at the same place as Edward.

The smell hit me hard. Lavender, mixed with the salty smell of tears and laced with power. As I turned my head I saw Hayley, laying on the ground and I noticed her tear stained face, looking in horror at the couple. I ran towards  her and picked her up bridal style. Edward's voice boomed as I touched her and for the first time in my life, I snarled back. At my alpha. Seeing the poor girl like this was too much and I couldn't bite my tongue.
"you have no right to growl at me for touching her when you and your slut over there clearly just broke her so badly that my wolf, who isn't even her mate, reacted to her howl."
Edward took a step towards me and his teeth were suddenly fangs and he used his alpha voice
"You do not disrespect me, you are simply a beta. Nothing more, now put my mate down right now or God help me I will kill you"
I was about to respond when Hayley leapt out of my arms and I almost protested but quickly shut my mouth when she started approaching Edward. She was going to get herself killed. She snarled and spat in his face.
"You will not kill him. Nor will you ever threaten him again. I thought at least you were a good alpha, but no. You aren't good in any way, not alpha, and most certainly you are not going to be a good mate- and I truly pity that whore of yours, because when she finds her mate and drops you, she will have to live with the shame of being with you."
Nobody moved, both me and Crystal gasped at her words but Edward remained silent. It was eery, like time itself had been frozen. In the next moment, Edward's eyes had become black and we all knew that now his wolf had complete control.
"my name is dean, I am Edward's wolf. I will love you forever, and I am truly sorry that the asshole is planning to break us apart but for once i will back down and let this matter rest. I assure you that Leo will take care of you, for I have prayed to the goddess herself to give you a second chance and Leo will help you find him. You will stay in this pack until you turn 18, at which point you are free to do what you please. I must warn you, in the next 3 weeks, you will face pain like no other. Until he rejects you, every time he kisses or mates with another it will cause you immense pain. I am truly sorry"
