Jade's POV
I woke up to the most annoying beeping sound ever, and immediately swore to cut whatever was making the sound with my scissors. I quickly realised that said sound was coming from my alarm clock. I shut it off and realised that it was already 6:45. Shit! There was no way I could be late for my first day of work. I quickly got up, ignoring my crumpled bed, crossed the room to my en suite bathroom and jumped in the shower, throwing my clothes to the floor.
Yesterday, Tori and I, had spent pretty much the whole day getting settled in and catching up on each other's lives and interests, before going to bed, in our own, separate rooms this time.

I threw on my nicest black jeans, a tight fitting blue tank top and a green flannel shirt and glanced at the clock. 7:15. I ran out of my room, grabbing my bag as I went, and raced down the stairs. As I went to turn the handle I heard a chuckle behind me. I turned around to see a smirking brunette looking at me.

"What?" I snapped, a little angry that she was laughing at me.

"well someone's grumpy. Good morning to you too Jade. First day and already oversleeping?"
she chuckled again, clearly amused by my annoyance.
I said nothing, simply turning around and walking out the door.

"Have a nice day!" she called out cheerily.

"Bye." I muttered angrily as I got into my car."

I arrived at work, sipping the Starbucks coffee that I'd grabbed on the way. They'd used almond milk instead of oat and were "out of sugar" so had decided that it would be a good idea to use caramel syrup instead, overall, it didn't taste great, but caffeine was caffeine and I really needed it if I was going to make it through today.
All I'm saying is, when I arrived at work, I was in a bad mood.
As I walked in, this stupid employee walked into me, almost knocking the bag that was in my hand. It was a croissant from this little bakery next to my work.

"You idiot! I could've dropped my croissant"
I almost screamed at him.
I opened my mouth to say more but quickly shut it again. Yes I was Jade West, but here I was replaceable, I had to keep myself under control. I couldn't risk losing this job.
I took five deep breaths and walked up the stairs to the office where I would be spending my time writing the script for out TV show. Time to meet my colleagues I guess. I hoped to God they weren't annoying.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hi! You must be Jade. I'm Laura. "
a bubbly red haired girl with big green eyes that seemed to sparkle with joy and mischief, said merrily.
"Yeah, that's me"
I looked around the room, giving everyone my signature disapproving glare, to show that I was not someone to mess with.
I then walked over to an empty seat, next to a dark, curly haired man wearing a pressed pale blue shirt and black trousers.
"So." Laura broke the silence "We're only waiting for Jonathan now."
as she said this, a young, blonde man walked in confidently.
"sorry I'm late" he said in a prominent Australian accent. "My clock was broken And I thought I had tonnes of time" he laughed heartily and went to sit down.
"Right, that's everyone." Laura was clearly trying not to be annoyed at the young blonde's attitude. "How about we go around and get to know each other for a bit and then we can start spitballing ideas for the script?"
There was a general agreement around the room.
"Okay, I'll start. I'm Laura Humphrey, I'm 22 years old and I'm from Tennessee. I went to a small art school when I was younger and then moved here to NYC to get better opportunities in writing screenplays. I love cats and old houses."
" Hey guys, I'm Billy, I'm 23 and I was born in LA but moved to NYC when I was 14. I like photography and horror movies, but I'm not that great with people." The quiet man next to me said.
Now it was my turn I suppose.
"Hi. I'm Jade, I'm 23, I grew up in LA and went to Hollywood Arts, I just moved here to a little apartment around 10 minutes away. I hate a lot of things, and I love scissors and darkness." and pretty Latinas, a voice in my head added.
Shut up. We're not here to talk about Tori.
"Hey guys, I'm Eleanor, I'm 22 and I'm from New Jersey. I went to a normal school pretty much my whole life but I've been studying acting and writing on the side. I moved up here when my friend in the city told me about this opportunity. I didn't have that many friends before, but you guys seem cool so maybe that will be different here."
a pale, petite brunette next to me said quietly. She smiled shyly at us before turning to look at Johnathan.
"Well hey there buckaroos!" he exclaimed laughing heartily.
I rolled my eyes. He was so damn full of himself. I had to stop myself from pulling the scissors out of my waistband and sticking them into his throat.
"As y'all know. I'm Johnathan, but y'all can call me John. Or big J I don't mind." he drawled
"I'm from Melbourne and I just moved here to get a little job to kick start my writing career. I'll make sure to credit you all when I'm famous." he laughed again.
"My favorite smell is ribs cooking on the barbie and I like pretty goths with an attitude." he looked at me and grinned.
Ew. Was he hitting on me?
I rolled my eyes and looked away.
"OKAY guys. Let's wrap this up and get script writing. We need a horror story so start brainstorming characters. Jade and Billy, You two work together on potential plotlines, and Eleanor, John and I will spitball characters. All okay?"
we all nodded.
"All right let's go"
