It was sunrise when Dev woke up. On Bit's bedside table sat the completed scrolls. Dev grabbed them and headed out. "Hey, do you want breakfast," asked Jean, as Dev raced down the stairs. "Not particularly," said Dev, "I'm fairly busy today." "Alright then get to work," replied Jean. Dev quickly ran outside. He wanted to get to the town hall before it opened.

The street quickly led him into the center of town, where the town hall stood. The building was large. It was made out of wood and had multiple windows. The building was facing west, as such, the building looked very dark and abandoned due to the morning sun being on the opposite side. Dev walked up to the front door and tried to pull it open. It was locked. He then knocked waiting for a response. After 5 minutes had passed of waiting, a man walked up to the door. Standing right next to Dev, Dev noticed he wore a button up and dress pants. His eyes seemed kind. He looked as though he took hygiene very seriously, as he was neatly shaved and his teeth were a pearly white. He also looked very skinny. The only thing that was a bit odd was the fact that his hair went down to his back. "Ah, hello, what do you need here," he asked smiling. His voice was soft and had only a slight accent.

"Ah, I wish to talk to the mayor," said Dev.

"Oh I thought the investigators already came by?"

"Oh I'm part of a different division."

"Oh, okay," replied the man looking at him suspiciously.

"What do you do, by chance," asked Dev.

"I'm the city planner, I help with expansion and whatnot.

"Oh, I see, well, can I be let in?"

"I don't see why not, but usually the mayor doesn't accept walk-in appointments."

"Oh that's fine."

The man looked at him a bit weirdly, but just shrugged it off and unlocked the door. Dev followed the man in. As he led him up the stairs Dev quickly pulled out his scroll and read it. As it burned he put it in his pocket, and now the man had a slight glow to him. It was blue, this meant that he wasn't busy thinking about Dev, but instead something else.

It took around a minute to get to the mayor's room. "Well here it is, I will have to get going, good luck," said the man. Dev waved bye to him and went inside. Upon opening the door Dev saw the mayor scribbling something down. His color was orange, meaning he was distressed by something. "Um hi, I don't mean to disturb, but can I ask you a few questions," asked Dev. "Oh, yes! That is fine," he said while sliding his papers down into a drawer. Suddenly he turned to a bright pink, which means he was trying to hide something. It was then that Dev finally started to take a good look at him. He was a lot more well dressed then the other man, but he had a lot less care over hygiene. His hair was starting to grey. His teeth were stained, presumably from smoking. He also wore glasses, and under them were bright amber eyes. Dev then noticed his beard, which was fairly long, and very neatly trimmed.

"So, do you work for the other investigators?"

"No, I run my own business."

"Ah how curious," he started to turn purple, a sign of desire.

"So, what did you know about Tom?"

"Oh, he was a new hire, he said he was, 'working on something big,' but I never could figure out what it was," he turned pink.

"Ah, how important was he to the city?"

"Oh, very important. He was always known as the type of man to take his job very seriously. The economy here actually improved with him heading the treasury. He also helped people be more accepting of outsiders." He turned green, with relief.

"Did you know him personally?"

"Well a bit, his wife was Sera, a very confident woman in her youth, but has mellowed out over the years. He had no kids. Not really any friends. Not too many hobbies, oh except for landscaping, he was always working on some sort of home project."

Dev was writing quickly as he said all of this.

"So, are there any leads yet," asked Dev.

"Well, the sheriff is stuck working with Jenn, and she doesn't have any leads yet. She is busy investigating the body."

"Uh anyways, who else works here?"

"Well there is me, Carter the city planner, and now Ryan, who handles the people. Oh, Biff is technically in charge of medical affairs, but he doesn't ever show up."

"Do you need someone constantly watching your health?"

"Well, yes," the mayor, as he said that, turned bright pink.

"Well, thank you, I think I'll be going now."

"Ah, okay, be careful tonight, a lot of people believe the closer it gets to a full moon, the more dangerous the night gets."

"Ah, thanks for the advice, " Dev smiled, waved, and walked out.

The last color he turned was red, a direct lie. He believes it is safe at night. It was at that moment that Dev decided to wait for the mayor to leave.
