A month had passed since Bif was arrested. He got charged with multiple crimes, ending up with a handful of life sentences, with no chance at parole. The trial was very quick. The kids ended up with Sera. John got himself some anti-howl medicine to prevent his shape-shifting. Jean learned what had happened and swore to pay Dev and Bit the fees they agreed upon. The month was somber. With lots of rain. Bit spent her time reading. Dev learned some local songs. Jenn and Gen didn't talk to Dev and Bit that much. Jenn and Gen just agreed to go to them if the police needed help.
Eventually Dev and Bit hopped onto a train. They got themself a private cabin. "So," said Dev, "how are you feeling right now." "Weird," Bit said, "I'm angry, of course. It's just, I don't understand." Dev looked outside, "People almost never behave how I think they would." Bit sighed, "I know, I usually can understand people, but not him."
"Some people can't be understood."
"Is this how most cases turn out?"
"Well, even in my easy cases, the answer is yes."
Bit sighed. She opened up her book and began to read. Dev continued to stare out, he wondered how his next case would turn out.
