4 days later. | Dec 19th.
3:41 pm.

I unlocked the door with some of the walmart bags in my hand. I applied for a job there 3rd shift on some days while I still worked at the hair salon for extra money.

Cortasia applied for the daycare Londyn go to.

Londyn had a walmart bag in her hand with bread in it.

"Go in." I said to her as I pushed the door open.

20 minutes later.

After we put the food up we was sitting on the couch watching tv.

"I'm glad I moved away from up there." Cortasia spoke.

"Why you say that?" I asked.

"It was jus toxic up there. Me and Ty good, but aye look. Ian never tell you this cause ian want you to be mad at me." She paused.

"Tell me what Cortasia?" I questioned.

"Yo daddy anit really dead. When the "funeral" came up, the casket was close. That's when I knew something was wrong with that picture."

"A few days after that, I went walking around and walked pass y'all old house. I heard yelling and fighting so I went to the back door since it's always open. When I walked in, it got louder and I recognized the voice. Yo dad and momma. They was fussing about you leaving town and him faking his death. He was saying it was for the best for you AND Londyn." She explained. My mouth dropped and tears started coming to my eyes.

"And then??" I asked with my voice cracking.

"And then they started fighting I guess and I heard foot step towards the kitchen and ran back out the door. Leaving it open, so i'm pretty sure they know somebody was there. They just don't know WHO." She responded.

"But why? Why? Why is he playing hide and seek. I'm to fucking young to be a housewife. And who? Who is he hiding from and why? Man this to fucking much. Cortasia why you just now saying some!" I snapped.

"I didn't know when was the right time but when I heard Londyn the other day in the sto it came back to mind." She shrugged.

I got up and walked to the bathroom. I sat on the toilet and a message came to my phone.

Shawn 😊: Yooo.

Le'Neya: Hey 🧡.

Shawn 😊: Wyd?

Le'Neya: Nun finna take a nap . wbu?

Shawn 😊: That's all yo ass did in school 😹 . But shit bored walking to the sto in this cold ass weather.

Le'Neya: I den forgot it get cold down there 😹🤦🏾‍♀️ . that's coo doe , ima text you when i get up .

I wipped my tears and walked out the bathroom and into my room. I laid on the bed and cried myself to sleep.

6:17 pm.

"Here." Cortasia handed me a fruit snack cheesing.

"Guess what?" She said jumping up and down.

"Hmm?" I responded.

"Ty coming down here for Christmas!!" She cheesed and ran to me hugging me.

"Congrats bitch." I rolled my eyes and hugged her back.

"So you not mad at me for earlier no mo?" She asked.

"Naw, you anit the one I should be mad at." I said.

"Where Londyn?" I added on.

"She fell asleep on the couch while we was watching Maury on demand." She replied.

I grabbed my phone to text Shawn.

Le'Neya: I'm up .

Shawn 😊: Ight, how you sleep ma?

Le'Neya: good ty for asking 🧡 .

Shawn: Anytime , i'm kinda busy rn ima text you when I get a chance .
