Art - Cheren x Reader

This is a Cheren x Artist!Reader

(Y/n)'s POV

Me and my partner Smeargle are on our way to Aspertia city

We're going to that city because I thought if a drew a sketch of it I can add it to my collection back at home, where I've been going city to city in Unova and draw all of the cities and towns here, and even forests too!

Smeargle also helps me draw too, he's a pretty trusty companion

When we reached Aspertia City

I looked around and found a nearby bench that I can sketch and draw this city

When I finished sketching, I gave it to Smeargle to let him take a look

Smeargle looked happy with my drawing

"Glad you liked it buddy" I smiled

Then I heard footsteps behind me

"Hey that's a really good drawing" someone behind me said

I looked behind me and saw a ravenette

"O-Oh! Thank you!" I exclaimed

"Sorry have I startled you?" he asked me

"Not really" I told him

"What's your name?" he suddenly asks

"It's (Y/n)" I said

"Nice to meet you, (Y/n), I'm Cheren" he smiles

"Wait, are you the gym leader here?" I asked him

"Yes, in fact I am" he smiled

"Well, can I take a look around your gym?" I asked him

He nodded and we went off to the gym, which looked more like a school, but you can't judge a book by it's cover, right?

There were so many kids running around the school and many greeted Cheren as they passed him

This makes me happy seeing all these children run around and roam freely as they'd like

Smeargle even made friends with some of the kids here too

"So, how do you like it here?" He asked

"It's quite nice!" I exclaimed

Smeargle nodded in agreement

"Well, I'm happy you like it" he smiles at me

He told me that I could feel free to roam around the school and sketch in a few places if I'd like

So I nodded and walked around the school with Smeargle

-Timeskip-

It's Lunch time now and the kids are about everywhere

One kid was poking Smeargle and he didn't seem to like it that much

"Hey, can you please stop poking my Smeargle? He doesn't like that" I calmly told the kid

"Oh, I'm sorry, I just want to play with it!" The boy exclaimed

"It's okay if you want to do that, just don't make him uncomfortable" I smiled at him

The boy nodded and I let him play with my Smeargle

Cheren noticed this and walked over to where I was

"I see you're doing just fine here" he chuckled

"Yep! And I've got a few interesting sketches from around here too!" I told him

"That's great, the children seem to like you a lot" he said

"Well, that's good for me" I smiled

The boy then came over to me

"Hello miss? What's that?" He asked, pointing at my sketchbook

"Oh this? It's my sketchbook" I told him

"Can I see?" He asked

"Sure" I replied and handed it to him

He looks through all he pages and he turned to me

"I like these!" He exclaims

He was a pretty adorable child

"Well, thank you" I thanked him

"Can you draw Smeargle?" He asked

"Sure" I replied with a smile

I sit down and called Smeargle, asking it for help

He obligated and I started to draw him

"Wow..." the boy said as he watched me sketch

After I'm done with it, I handed it to the boy

"You can keep it" I said with a smile

"Really?! Thank you so much!" He exclaims, hen ran off to show his friends

"How do you do that?" Cheren asks

"Do what?" I questioned

"Draw like that" he said

"Oh, well, people might not really believe in this tactic, but practice, it helps" I told him

"I understand that, though most people wouldn't because they'd normally think it's just pure talent" he smiled at me

"Hey, would you like to battle?" He three asked

"Oh! Sure!" I said

-Timeskip because I still don't know how to write battle scenes TwT-

"Wow, you're pretty good with your Smeargle" Cheren complimented

"Thank you" I said

"You seem really good with the children" he said

"I guess?" I replied

"Why don't you teach the students art at this school?" Cheren offered

"W-What?!" I exclaimed

"What do you think?" He asked

"Well, sure! I don't really mind" I smiled

"Great! The children would be really happy to have you teach them" he smiled too

"I'm happy to be here" I said

"I'll let you get familiar to the atmosphere here first" he said, then walked away

"Hey Cheren! Wait!" I called after him

Cheren turned around and I ran over to him

I have him a quick peck on the cheek

"Thank you" I smiled, then ran off

3rd Person POV

(Y/n) ran off leaving Cheren stunned, holding a hand on his cheek as he smiled at the girl

Smeargle looked at him and gave him and nod and followed her after

I finished! I finished! And I also want to say that I'm getting really into reading 'Monsters of Etheria: Backstory Betold!' Yeah, check that out if you want it's really good. I might ship some of the characters there :3
