Ashton's POV

When we arrived at the battle scene, the bodies of men and the howls of pain were mixed. The deadly smell of blood filtered the air. My wolf howled as he watched a man in front of us get torn into deadly pieces.

 We charged, are feet pounding against the ground, I growled as I tackled the first wolf. Surprise caught him which caused him his life, my teeth gripped tightly on to his throat. I clenched them feeling the blood rush into my mouth my wolf ignored the taste and ripped the head of the wolf off.

 As I looked around the field now, we were wining. My eyes focused on Cherry's beautiful wolf, a glossy white wolf. Now, tainted with dark red blood.

 She tore through wolves quickly, she was beyond deadly when it came to fighting.

 A painful howl was heard. I looked at the wolf, it was a dark brown wolf with blue eyes. . .Jesse. Both me and my wolf disliked him but we couldn't just let him die like that.

 We jumped in the middle preventing the two biggest wolves to charge at him, as I looked at there size my wolf growled. It was the Alpha and Beta rogue. Of course this guy would go for the biggest.

 I growled as I took as step, they both growled. I watch the saliva drip from the dark black wolf. I could hear the rush of water, right there was the Devil's river. If I could get them to back up into there they would fall and die. Cause everyone knows that the fall is to high to not die from.

 I heard a loud growl, I watch as Cherry's wolf, jump onto the Beta's back gripping the back of his neck she bit down hard. The beta growled and shook her off, she fell of the Beta. I watch in as she quickly pushed the Beta and Alpha. They growled, I smiled. Finally.

 But terror washed down on me when I noticed Cherry her wolf pulled along by the dark wolf. My wolf growled loudly stopping the battles to stop. I watch as Cherry shifted back into human. Her eyes widened, I watch as her body hit the water.

 My stomach dropped, I stared at the water. The river had a deadly flow. . .Cherry fell to her death, and I watched it all happen.

 By now everyone had stopped, I shifted back as I stared at the waters. My heart wanted to stop, my body felt like I lost everything, because I just did. I closed my eyes, hoping to make contact with her. . . .Nothing.

 My wolf howled, the woman we had fallen in love with was dead. The cheers of men were heard but I couldn't join in, how could the not notice the fact that there Alpha was missing. "Ashton, where's Cherry?" 

 My heart was stuck in my throat, I-I couldn't say that she had fallen and was gone. "C-Carter. . .S-she fell." He watched as the tears in my eyes, his eyes widened as he looked at the waters. Terror settled in.

 "Listen up! Our Alpha has led this victory! But she had fallen into the Devil's river." I watch as the warriors of our pack and the other pack gasp. "We will look for our Alpha if it's the last thing we do! She didn't give up when we lost hope and neither will we!" He yelled loudly.

  "We will help you, I'll have my best trackers and warriors help you." I watch as Alpha Tyler step forward. My heart pounded erratically, "Ash. . .Don't worry we will find her. But, I need you to keep it together." Carter patted my shoulder gently. 

  He knew how I felt about her. I was roughly grabbed by the shoulder my face turned around looking at a injured Jesse, he clutched his arm. "Why would you come between me and the wolves! I clearly had it!" He shouted.

 I growled, my wolf didn't like the tone he had used on me. Only the Beta and Alpha were aloud to use such a loud voice on me.

 "You were injured! What did you want me to do?" He growled taking a step forward locking eyes with me. Carter quickly placed himself between us," listen this is not the time to fight. We have an Alpha to look for."
