I drop my Converse into the grey security bin with a loud thud. Caitlin jumps a little next to me. "Chill, would ya?" she says, setting her shoes in next to mine.

"I'm trying," I reply, grabbing another bin that we both put our purses into. "It's really hard to relax, however, when some chick who's gonna meet the boys with us totally makes fun of me in my face!"

Caitlin rolls her eyes. "We were, like, sixty feet away from her. Besides, she was probably just laughing about an inside joke with her friend. So calm yourself."

I take a deep breath. I know what I saw, but I'm probably just taking it the wrong way. "I am calm. I'm like zen level ten."

"Good," Caitlin says. "Because I know how perfect you want this trip to be, and unnecessary drama could totally ruin it." She steps through the metal detector and goes to reclaim her shoes and bags on the other side. I follow her through the detector, grab my stuff, and head over to a bench on the wall.

"There won't be any drama," I assure her as we tie our shoes. "Even those girls aren't the friendliest ones on the planet, I won't let it get to me."

Caitlin pats my back with a proud look on her face. "Atta girl! Hey Rick," she calls, "we're gonna grab a bite to eat in the gift shop."

Rick walks up and nods to us, checking his watch. "That's fine, we still have like half an hour. I'll grab us some seats, meet me back in gate 104 in ten." We agree and head into the gift shop.

"Yummy, yummy, yummy," Caitlin chants, sprinting for the candy section. I laugh as she grabs some chips, a Snickers bar, and a whole bag of Skittles. She makes a defensive face and says, "plane rides are one of the few times I let myself pig out on junk food."

"Um, yeah, ok," I say sarcastically. Please, the girl eats chocolate for breakfast sometimes. I'd scold her for her habit if she weren't already so skinny. I pick an energy bar and a bag of Sour Patch Watermelon gummies, then we walk towards the magazine rack.

"Oooooh, look who made the cover of every tween magazine this month agaaaaain!" Caitlin says, pointing to cheap gossip tabloids like J-14 and Tigerbeat. Of course, Harry, Liam, Zayn, Niall, and Louis litter the covers. Which isn't a bad sight at all. I just hate how those magazines see them as just another five pretty faces, and not the insane, hilarious, flawed-yet-flawless guys I know they really are.

"Ugh," I say, but we both spend at least twenty seconds staring at them. "Ok, that's enough!" We quickly grab People and US Weekly, then walk over to the cashier. We pay for our stuff and start to walk back to gate 104.

We find Rick with two empty seats on his left, but on his right we see Steve and the two girls sitting down. They must have gotten through security while Caitlin and I were in the gift shop. My pace gradually slows, but Caitlin notices. "Act cool," she snaps. I regain my composure, making my way to my seat while trying to avoid eye contact. I fail miserably, though, because the girls stand up and walk over to us before we reach our seats. Caitlin discreetly nudges my elbow.

"Hey," the blonde says with a perky voice. Now she seems totally kind and friendly, and I start to assume it's an act. "I'm Pheobe, and this is Lauren." She nods to the brunette, who also smiles and waves. "Hi," she says.

"Hi! Nice to finally meet you guys," Caitlin says, giving a bright smile. Phew. Thank God I have someone to cover for my nervousness. "Or, if I remember correctly, Phoebe Stylinson and Lauren Terrance?" She's referring to the girls' Twitter names. Phoebe and Lauren laugh with her.
