Chapter 6

Ellie's Pov

I'm back on the Island now and can say already that I miss Toronto and Mitch. I've always not been a big fan of the Island it's too small for my liking I'm a fan of bigger places. I know I'm gonna get hell when I go back to school with disappearing for 2 weeks but I couldn't honestly care.

I know that once everyone finds out about Mitch that no one will believe me and that doesn't bother me because I know the truth. I decide to just get it out there on social media before anyone can find out.

Ellie8759: So I want to put this out there before media catches up. Yes I am dating Mitch Marner.

Ellie8759: Didn't I already say next time I am in Toronto Matthews, gosh so impatient 😂

Mitch_Marner16: Gonna be screaming this from the roof tops now that you announced on social ❤️😉

Ellie8759: Oh god please don't, the last thing I need is Matthews to take an embarassing video of you and you complain he won't delete it 😂

Auston_Matthews34: That's so something I would do too 😂 hasn't even met me yet but can read my mind.

I start laughing as I close my phone and get ready for school, I mean it's true I haven't met the dude but boys will be boys and are quite predictable.

As I pull into the student parking lot I see Jake and Matt waiting for me which does not surprise me in the slightest but I haven't told them about my decision to go to U of T instead of staying close to home.

" Hey guys, miss me so much you decide to wait for me" I say laughing

" How were we not the first ones to know you are dating THE Mitch Marner." Jake says

" Cuz I didn't think it was that important, he's just a normal guy." I say

"Only you would think he's just a normal guy Ellie." Matt says

I just give him a look, smirk and then lock my car and walk away. I know I have a chance of getting bombarded if anyone saw my post which sucks but I'm prepared.

End of school day

I was right I got asked a lot of questions today, by people who don't usually talk to me or stopped talking to me. I just ignored them all, they couldn't be bothered to talk to me before I started dating Mitch so I'm sure as hell not giving them the time of day now.

I see I have an incoming call from Mitch and pick up the phone.

E: Hey Mitch, what's up.
M: Hey babe just calling to see how your day went?
E: It's what I expected, bombarded by people I don't talk to or who stopped talking to me with questions.
M: I'm sorry Ell, I know you didn't sign up for this.
E: But it is what I signed up for, you play in the NHL what else was gonna happen when we started dating, I'm happy to deal with people if it means I'm with you.
M: okay as long as your happy, I'm happy with you too.
E: I have to go hit the homework so I'll message later.
M: Okay babe, talk to you later
E: Bye
M: Bye

I get a start on my homework but get bored pretty quickly honestly so I decide to just go watch hockey.

Mitch's POV

I just got off the phone with Ellie, I feel bad she has to go through the shit she is at school but there is only 5 months not even that she's stuck there before she is here for good.

I only met this girl 3 weeks ago but she's all that's in my head. I know I'm not playing as good as I did when I knew she was in the stands. It's weird how much a girl can change how you think and feel.

I know my team is noticing the difference but only Auston and William have met her but even they don't realize just how much effect this girl has on me.

I can't say my stats have been bad but they were twice as good the two weeks she was here and even tonight's game I just can't seem to get it together.

Ellie's POV

I just got a call from Austin saying that Mitch is having a hard time on the ice without me there, he doesn't understand why but it seems knowing I was in the stands made him play a lot better. So since we have a 4 day weekend at school I get on the plane and fly to Toronto to surprise him.

When I get to the arena, I go to the players door at the back where Auston is waiting for me.

" Hey Austin, thanks for the call." I say while hugging him

"Thank you for coming, I hope I didn't take you away from school for this". He says hugging back

" No no I'm on a long weekend, I have 4 days off and was already ahead in my work anyways."

"Let's go in shall we then." He says

We walk through the door and head straight to the dressing room, he goes in quickly to make sure all the boys are decent and then comes to grab me. When I walk in Mitch has his back to me so I slowly walk in behind him.

" Hey superstar, someone gave me a heads up your having a rough time" I say smiling

He slowly turns around to face me like he doesn't think I'm actually there and when he sees me sprints forward to hug me.

" Omg what the hell are you doing here." He says

" Auston called said you were having a rough time without me at the games, so I'm on a 4 day weekend and here for the next two home games." I say

He just picks me up and spins me around, I know then I made the right decision to come here now. He introduces me properly to the team and I'm excited for what the next four days are going to bring!
