Elemental Powers

Chapter 1

[Luna P.O.V.]

Fifth grade.Big year, huh?

As I said, I'm Luna Cahill, age 10, evil bunion, and genius. Okay, the last part is a lie.

I stepped into the ancient school. It looked nothing like a prison, but to most of the students, it was.

Hillview Arts Chartered School was a school for kids aged 6-12. The school's teachers really sucked. They enjoyed scolding kids and making their life miserable (Amadora~ They even poo at the kids).  As long as I've been in there,I've never had a great relationship with the teachers. The real reason I went to school at all was because of my two best friends, Alyssa and Amadora. 

I headed into the corridor and went straight for class 5C, avoiding the older students.In all my ten years of life,I have never gotten along with schoolmates older than I am. (Hold on.Alyssa and Amadora are older than I am. Nevermind)Anyhoo, I crashed straight into the classroom and was instantly greeted by a loud banging and yelling. The students of class 5C were messing around yet again, and I couldn't blame them. After all who wants to go to school and have to face those(shudder shudder) teacher-demons?

There were tons of paper scraps on the floor and the chairs and tables were seriously disarranged. The students were running around and talking loudly. If I wasn't a student,I might have mistaken this for a party.

'Oy, Luna!'yelled Alyssa.'Come here!' she and Amadora were huddled together with Chloe, another of my friends.

I picked my way over to them and tossed down my school bag.' What's going on?'

Amadora laughed.' Luna,it's first day!'

'So?'

'We have the whole day without teacher guidance,' answered Chloe.'So naturally we decided we should really throw a party.'

'Well, when Miss Nell comes in she won't be pleased,'I said.'Ama, clean this up.'

In this school, we can learn magic. However, the teachers would need to hold a test to see if they were talented to learn magic. We had different magic powers (We should give Chloe magic powers too. It's only fair.Fine then) .I had fire powers,Alyssa had water powers,and Amadora had ice and wind powers.Amadora always uses magic powers when me or Alyssa accidentally burned stuff or gave everyone an involuntary swim.

'Fine, you git,'Ama nodded. She pulled out her wand and said, "Scourgify!"

'That's better,'I said.

Thankfully,Miss Nell walked in late(8:30). By the time she stalked into the classroom,wagging her bum and clutching her deadly weapons(homework), everyone was already seated and snoring in their seats. I can tell you this because I was one of the only ones awake and chatting with Amadora.

'What the flip,'Miss Nell announced.

'Snore,snore,'went the class.

'Wake up,'Miss Nell said through her nostrils.

Amadora promptly fell asleep.

'WAKE UP!'Miss Nell farted.

'FRINKY?!'Alyssa screamed,jerking back to life.

'Welcome to Earth,' I told her.

Miss Nell belched disapprovingly.' No screaming,Alyssa.'

'RIGHTY-HO!' Alyssa screamed back at her.

Miss Nell snorted like a bull.'The rest of you,Wake UP!'she bellowed with extra force.'Pew,pew,pew!'she went, waving the homework around. 'Pew,pew,pew.'

'AMA!'I reprimanded Amadora. 'That was not funny!'

She had her wand out and pointed at Miss Nell.Both her and Alyssa were laughing. 

'Ugh,'Amadora said.'Fine,I'll fix her.'

'No,wait,'said Alyssa.'Watch this.'

She pointed at Miss Nell,who was still muttering pew,pew,pew. A gust of water splashed her in the face.

'Pew,pew,pew,'Miss Nell continued.

'Oh for gods' sake!' I said. I snatched away Amadora's wand. Now as I may have mentioned, some of us have magic powers. I have fire powers,and it's specifically fire powers,so no wandwork for me. The teachers had offered me magic lessons, but I refused, along with Alyssa. We'd be useless at wand-waving or potion-brewing or farting or chanting or whatever. I guess I could do magic with a wand, but it wouldn't work as well as Amadora doing magic.

Anyway, I took out my wand and muttered,'Rennervate!' A fire flash bumped into her. 

"Oh my god!" Amadora said in a scared voice. "I think she is on fire." She took back her wand from my other hand.

"Nevermind," said Alyssa. Her wand splashed so much water onto Miss Nell. Then Amadora use her wand to made some icy wind and Miss Nell was back to normal.

"That's better," I whispered.

"ARGH," Miss Nell crossed her arms. 'Today we shall learn about...math.'

'Big surprise,' I muttered.
