~Keith's POV~                                                                                                                                                                          I sit on my bed and pull out my mother's old sword. It was from her days as a rebel fighter, with the blade of marmora. She left the blade with dad when she was pregnant with Shiro. She fled to Altea, and had to prove she was part of the blade of marmora, the Galra who aren't part of the empire.

I miss her, I don't know when we'll be going back to Altea. I walk out of my room, and around the ship. By now, I know it like the back of my hand, there's only one room I haven't been to yet. But it's too late right now to go, but I'll go tomorrow. I walk past the training room to find Allura and Lance working with powers.

Allura becomes invisible and visible with ease. I watch Lance try, but when he doesn't turn invisible he slumps down, muttering under his breath.

"Breathe, stay calm, that helps a lot for me, you should try," Allura says.

She stands up straight, in front of her younger brother, legs together. He does the same, they close their eyes, inhale calmly, and Allura turns invisible. Lance still stands there, he opens his eyes, grumbles and trips. He almost falls over, but Allura catches him, turning visible again. He glares at her, "Quiznacker," he mutters.

"Hey!" Allura says. I start to laugh at what he said, but I cover my mouth. Not in time, they both turn my way, I run down the hall away from them all the way back to my room. I uncover my mouth, and laugh at what Lance said. I've wanted to say that once or twice, but can't because she's the princess.

My door opens and I look up to see Shiro standing there. "My little brother, laughing? Never thought I'd see the day," he jokes.

"I can laugh," I say defensively.

"Obviously, but you don't most of the time." I cross my arms as my ears pull back. Shiro ruffles my hair and sits on the bed beside me. "What's so funny?"

I open my mouth to say Lance, but then know how Shiro would take that. So I stop myself, my face getting hot, "Lance fell down."

He raises an eyebrow, "Either you're lying, or you feel bad for laughing at that."

"Why?"

He pokes my cheek, "Your face is red."

"No it's not!" I say defensively, as my brother chuckles at me.

"Have your marks glowed yet?" He asks referring to the marks similar looking to scars that run down my chin.

I roll my eyes, "No, and they won't, because I don't like him, and he definitely doesn't like me."

Shiro sighs and ruffles my hair again, making a point of rubbing my ears, making me purr uncontrollably. "Say what you like, you know I can see right through you little brother." He stands up, and walks back out of the room.

I turn towards the wall, and put a blanket around myself. Why would Shiro think I have a crush on Lance? Of all people, him? Even if I did, there's no way that he would like me back, and no way Altean royalty would be with a Galra.

Pretty soon after Shiro left, the door opens again. "What do you want Shi-"I cut myself off when I look at the door, instead of seeing my brother, I see the tall, lanky, Altean boy.

"Is this a bad time?" He asks nervously.

"No, no, come in," I say.

"Sorry, it's just that I can't seem to get a hang of the invisibility," he says shaking his hands.

"No need to be sorry, tell me about it." I offer, my lips turning up slightly, smiling.

He paces back and forth in front of my bed. "Well as you know I was excited about learning to use these new powers, so I asked Allura to help me. At first, she was all, it's too much for you to handle. But I was like, no, I can deal with a lot, show me. So she started showing me tonight, but she keeps telling me to clear my mind, breathe, be calm. Stuff like that, but I can't seem to, so I can't turn invisible, I tripped, and she was all I'll catch you while invisible because I'm perfect. But she's not, so I called her a quiznacker, and now she might not teach me."

He speaks so fast I barely catch all of it, but when he mentions how he called Allura a quiznacker, I can't help but laugh a little. "What's so funny?" He asks dramatically, making me laugh more.

"It's just, that's probably the first time she's been called that," I say through chuckles. I calm down, when he stares at me questioningly. "Nobody in their right mind would call the princess that, especially to her face, who knows how she'll feel."

"Thanks for the vote of confidence," he says sarcastically.

"Oh," I tilt my head at him and smirk. "She won't take any offense in being called that, who would when you're the one saying it," I say over dramatically, like he does a lot. "Is that better?"

He crosses his arms and looks away from me mumbling to himself. "Do you need a hug, you big baby," I wrinkle my nose at him while saying this.

He looks back at me, gaze softening, "Maybe..." I'm taken aback by the answer, but open my arms.

He comes closer and lets me wrap my arms around him, he sighs contentedly and loosens up until he's no longer tense. He wraps his arms around me as well, I see my face get red in the mirror in front of me. Is Shiro right?

No, I'm just not used to hugging people other than my family.

We pull away from each other, and Lance smiles, "Thank you," he says.

"No problem," I reply. He smiles at me one more time and walks out of the room.
