Chapter 2.

There just outside my door stood my friends with a video and bags of popcorn in their hand. That was the normal part. What was not normal was, that they were surrounded by a dozen of Fey, all playing around them, even some types I had never seen before. What the hell had they been doing to pick up this many of the little critters? I stared at the playing fey.

Now they noticed me and started to dance around me too. I would have panicked if my friends did not call out my name.

“ASH!!!” Kaylee yelled.

I looked up at them in shock.

“wha..?”

“Jesus Christ Ash. What is wrong with you today?” Kaylee asked annoyed. “You were spacing out again”.

“Oh, um, Sorry… I guess..” I said weakly.

“Anyway, Ash” Jake asked with a grin on his face “Can we come in?”

“Yeah sure” I said and stepped aside to let them enter. two of the fey entered before I could do anything about it. After Jake and Kaylee entered I slammed the door close to lock the other fey out, but not before yet another entered my house.

Great, now I had three little fey in my house. Another Earthman, a weirdly cloaked one that left a trail of frost and a thornman, a ball of thorny vines with four spiderlike legs.

Jake sat down on the couch, Kaylee sat next to him, as close as she could without being too obvious.

“You wil never guess who we met in the center!” exclaimed Kaylee, when I was putting the DVD in the player. Here it comes, I thought.

“Well? Who was it?” I asked wile I sat down on a sofa.

“A transfer student! He’ll be going to our school within the week!” Kaylee almost shouted.

“Yeah” Jake said  “He was quite something”

Did the little fey come from that guy? I certainly hoped not, I didn’t need extra distractions in school. If he brought a shitload of fey with him he would be walking trouble.

“So? We get transfer students all the time?” I said in an attempt to sound normal “We got John only last week” John was a stereotype nerd. Big glasses, braces, absolutely no taste in clothes and a laugh that worked on your nerves.

“Puh-lease, you really can’t compare this guy to that pizza head!” Kaylee said. “This guy is almost as awesome as Jake here!” She said while smiling at Jake.

Jake ignored her last sentence. I guess he was as dense as he was handsome. And he was very handsome. Grey eyes, shaggy dark hair and a body to die for.  but I could only think of him as a friend and not a potential boyfriend, like Kaylee.

“What was his name?” I asked, so I could avoid him in school.

They stared at me.

“What? Is that so weird to ask?” I asked.

“Um, he didn’t tell us his name” Jake said. “Weird, now I think about it”

“But that doesn’t matter” Kaylee said smiling “I’m sure you will like him, there is a chance he will come in your class, you know”

“Yeah” Jake said. “Now start the film, you will see him around soon enough”

I took the remote control and pressed play and tried to concentrate on the film. Despite the three fey playing around in the house.

Oh my god. Spaceballs. Great fun.

That night I lay in bed restlessly. For some reason I was unable to go to sleep. I walked outside my room to the balcony. I Looked up to the sky. It was cloudy and I could barely see the moon. I felt a strange pressure, like the silence before the storm, only worse.
