Harry's POV

I jog down the path and start to run along the footpath in the opposite direction of my house. Everyone's more interested in a cat than me. Well of course because its Taylor's cat and everyone loves Taylor. I'm nothing compared to her.

"Harry!" I hear someone distantly call my name.

I glance behind me to see if anyone's chasing me. No one, thank god. I feel my feet drop slightly and I know I'm running on the road now. I hear the roar of an engine beside me as if I'm in a dream. I turn my head and see a pickup track slam on the brakes a second too late. The truck lurches forwards and I'm knocked unconscious into a swirling world of black.

I hear a car door slam shut and heavy footsteps towards where I lie. A masculine voice swears and nudges me with his foot. I can't feel a thing, until I open my eyes and I'm standing on the footpath watching as the man grabs his phone and starts pacing back and forth as he explains to the emergency services what happened.

"He came running out of nowhere, no time to stop, I was a metre from him and he couldn't turn back. I tried stopping, slammed down on the brakes but he was knocked over, unconscious, I'm such a dick." He mutters.

And there I am, lying in front of the car with my leg twisted under me and both arms in awkward positions. My face is ghostly white and my hair looks darker than ever. I look down at my own hands. I touch my face and feel the soft skin. Two me's.

I race back down the path and up the steps to find Kendall yelling, "Harry! Where are you?" Her face full of desperation. I reach one hand out and touch her face. She doesn't notice.

Kendall's POV

"Harry!" I hear the desperateness in my voice and the strain I always hear within my words when I've worked too hard. These last few days have been so stressful as it is. Don't leave me again, please don't, I silently beg him. "For gods sake Harry, when are you gonna keep your promises?" I scream into the sharp air and sit down on the steps and sob.

"It's my fault, I'm so sorry," Taylor sits next to me.

"It's not your fault," I turn to look at her and see the trail of a tear on her face. "It's his own fault, his life, his decisions. He makes them without thought of others. We weren't meant to be on this earth for the pleasure of others. We all have our own little worlds and wishes. It's his own fault for ruining this whole thing."

"I caused him to ruin everything though. He wouldn't have run if I'd just gone to my room when Shreeya and Zayn appeared." Taylor wipes her face with the back of her hand. "I'm so so sorry. I shouldn't even be here. I'm just interfering with the two of you."

I look at her for a while longer. "Taylor, you're a great friend and want the best for everyone. Please stop punishing yourself for that." I lean over and hug her. "I'm going to look for Harry. You can help if you want."

"No... no." She says. "He's yours." I nod and turn away. "And I hate it that you're better than me and I hate it that he chose you over me but I'd do the same any day." She whispers that last part assuming I couldn't hear her I guess. I did though. But I don't turn back, just run away with her words echoing in my head.

Harry's POV

I listen to Taylor and Kendall talk about me. It is my fault, I've done this to myself. And neither of them are better than the other. Taylor shouldn't have said that but I know she can't keep all her negative thoughts to herself. I just hope Ken didn't hear.

I follow her as Ken runs down the road. She goes the opposite way that I went and I wish I could turn her around so she'll find me. She sprints off and is about to cross when a siren blares up, racing towards where I am. She pauses and watches it zoom past. She keeps running, not thinking or remembering that I do stupid things when I'm mad. Or maybe she's terrified that it will be me. She has to keep convincing herself that I'm somewhere safe. She should know better than that. Help me Ken. Save me. Watch me. Be with me because that's all I ever wanted.
