Hello \o/

For the purpose of this story, I'll refer to myself as M. Fall~

Obviously, it's a pen-name, but I just don't feel comfortable giving my real name.

Through the story, I try to treat of Canadian indigenous spirituality. I've done my best to research it thoroughly. However, if you see a discrepancy, feel free to point it out. I don't claim to be all knowledgeable in it. In fact, as I deepened my knowledge, I found that there was a LOT of things I didn't know about their spirituality and practices and that's coming from someone who's always been deeply interested in indigenous culture. I looked for a lot of the terms I use to be as accurate as possible. There might be some vagueness at certain moment, but... That's mainly because, as a none-indigenous member of society, there are just they don't share and therefore, I can't find.

BEFORE GETTING IN THE STORY, I want to point out that most of Canada's indigenous population is living in dire condition when they stay in reserve. Some houses are overcrowded, without water. A lot of the youth doesn't graduate from high school and those who do, generally don't go through university. In Canada, being indigenous is not something glamorous. While you don't pay taxes... If you live on a reserve, nothing belongs to you.  A lot of indigenous women go missing and their cases are never solved. The Government gives them "candies" to try to appease them, but, at the same time, they try to pass a pipeline through their land without their consent. First Nations in Canada have been, for many centuries, mistreated by the Government. If you want to learn more about the awful things that happened in Canada regarding First Nations, look up the Canadian residential school system. There are also a lot of documentaries of people going in Innu  reserves  and shows the living conditions there.

On that, let's begin the story,

M.Fall
