A knock on the door was heard, as Iwaizumi grabbed the flowers on the floor and threw them down the toilet. He already knew, who it was. And he mentally yelled at himself for not being quieter and getting the attention of the other boy.
“Iwa-chan are you okay?” Oikawa’s voice was heard from the other side of the door. It wasn’t its normal cheerful, sassy, funny tone, but a serious, worried tone. It was one that only rarely was heard. It was only, when he was really worried or sad, that that voice was heard.
“Yeah.” Iwaizumi assured, as he quickly cleared up the mess on the floor, but he stopped suddenly, when he heard, Oikawa’s worried voice.“Hajime... Are you really okay?” It had over the five words changed into a sad tone. Oikawa close to never called Iwaizumi Hajime, only when he really was worried, or he tried to charm him. For fun of course, but maybe that was one of the reasons Iwaizumi had fallen for Oikawa.
“I am okay.” Iwaizumi answered, as he looked down at the few flowers left. “Don’t worry Tooru.” He gathered himself again and quickly cleaned up the last traces of flowers and blood. Before he walked over and opened the door, to see a worried Oikawa standing with a slight frown on his face. “I am gonna get those popcorns, you go back to my room.” He forced a smile. He couldn’t handle seeing, Oikawa worried. It made him want to pull the boy into a tight hug, and never let go. But he couldn’t do that, could he?
Iwaizumi walked past Oikawa, who send him a hesitant smile. He gave Oikawa a little push towards his room, as he passed by and walked down to the kitchen. He quickly found the bags of popcorn and put them in the microwave for heating, as he so a little note on the table.
‘I am going shopping, coming back soon.’ it read. Well at least his mom didn’t hear his little accident. She had asked about them ones. It had been one of the first serious ones, Iwaizumi had had, and he had no idea how to answer. His mom kept an eye on him a little time, but lost interest quite quickly.
The alarm from the microwave sounded, as he made Iwaizumi made his way over to grab a bowl, grabbed the popcorn and poured them into the bowl, as the smell of salty popcorn made it to Iwaizumi’s nose. He didn’t dislike the smell, nor did he like it. The only place he really liked it, was in the theatre. Something about the atmosphere made it smell way better.
As Iwaizumi heard, Oikawa call for him upstairs. He made his way back to his room with the hot popcorn. And he soon came into the dark room, with lights off and curtains pull down in front of the windows. The only light in the room was from the TV, which shined a bright white light over at Iwaizumi’s bed, where Oikawa laid on his stomach with his feet dinging in the air, and a pillow under his chin to support his head.
As Oikawa heard the squeak from the noisy floor, he turned around to look at Iwaizumi, who had just walked in the room. “There you are.” His eyes lit up, as his eyes fell on the popcorn, and he inhaled deeply. “POPCORN!!” He sat up, as Iwaizumi handled them down to him. Even though it was Oikawa, who had asked for the popcorn. He still lit up by the sight of them. He loved popcorn, and even the smell of them. “You took your time Iwa-chan.” Oikawa joked, as he laid down in the same position as before, and placed the popcorn at a place, where Iwaizumi would be able to reach them too. Even though Iwaizumi hadn’t even sat down. Oikawa knew, where the boy was going to sit. Since it was the same every time.
“Just start the movie already Trashykawa.” Iwaizumi replied, as he sat down with his back towards the wall again and grabbed a handful of popcorn. The salty taste was something, he had gotten used to. He had always liked popcorn, but it wasn’t something, he had loved. But over the years he and Oikawa had held these kinds of movie nights, he had learned to love them. And contrary to the smell of them, he loved the taste anywhere.
*Timeskip*
The movie was close to over, as another tear ran down Oikawa’s cheek. He was never able to keep his emotions under control, when E.T said his goodbye. It was too emotional for Oikawa, and even though he had watched it 100+ times, he still cried. And Iwaizumi found it funny. He knew, what was going to happen, why did he cry?
Iwaizumi didn’t know why, but the way that the light from the TV shined over at Oikawa, together with the tears, almost made Oikawa’s face seem magical, it almost shined. Iwaizumi could never keep himself from looking at Oikawa’s face, when it looked like that. And since the Alien loving boy was too busy watching the movie, he was never caught. Let’s just say that Iwaizumi had seen the movie itself 100+ times, but that specific scene less, since all his focus would be on the boy.
But as always when E.T had set off, Oikawa ruined the sad atmosphere. “I want to get hugged by an alien too.” And Iwaizumi heard the same sentence go through his head, ‘let me be your alien’. Though he never said it out loud. He couldn’t. Even if he wanted to, his throat could never form the words.
