Get ready by 7 a.m.
Watch the kids until 7:30 a.m.
Walk 20 minutes to get out of the neighborhood to catch a ride by 8 a.m.
This daily routine was all but new to Xu Minghao. His aunt goes to work at 4 a.m. and comes home around 6 p.m. His cousin takes her night classes at about 10 p.m. goes to work at about 1 a.m. and comes home at about 7:30 a.m. His mom is almost always gone at work with no certain time to leave or come home. They all carry a responsibility for the little ones, his part was in the morning, his cousin's part was during the day, his aunt's part was at night, and his mom's part was whenever she was available. He didn't like this routine but it was the only way things could work.
"Gege!" Zhennan--Minghao's little cousin, yelled. "What is it Zhen?" Minghao asked. "Can I wear your red and black jacket today?" the younger asked. "Sure, don't get it dirty," the older replied. "Ouch! Jie that hurts!" "Be still and it wont." Minghao's other little cousin-- Zhenya was brushing Xiahao--Minghao's little sister's hair. "Xia, stay still, it'll be over soon," Minghao assured. "WAHHH!" Zhelan--Minghao's baby cousin, whined. "Oh shh, shh, shh, Jiejie will be home soon it's okay, it's okay," he whispered to the baby. Minghao looked at the time to see it was 6:45 a.m. "Zhen!" he yelled for his cousin. "Which one!" Zhennan and Zhenya yelled back. "Boy Zhen!" Minghao yelled in reply. Zhennan then came to the living room where Minghao was. "What is it Hao-ge?" he asked. "Are you done getting ready?" Minghao asked and Zhennan nodded his head yes. "Take your brother," he handed Zhelan over to his brother, "I have to get ready." 40 minutes later Minghao came down the stairs and sat his backpack on the floor. "Has Zhea come home yet?" he asked and the youngers all shook their heads no. Just then the door opened. "I'm home kiddos," said Zhea--Minghao's older cousin. "And I'm leaving," Minghao said as he picked up his bag and walked out of the door. It took him about 10-20 minutes to reach the outside of his neighborhood; it depended on his level of urgency. When he reached his destination, he was greeted by the same silver convertible and he got inside. "UgHhGgh," Minghao groaned as he plopped on the passenger seat. "Well good morning to you too, Hao," Jun giggled. Wen Junhui, Jun for short--Minghao's best friend of 7 years. "There's never a peaceful morning," Minghao whined. "You poor thing. Did you eat?" Jun asked and Minghao shook his head no. "I thought you'd say that, here," he handed him a container with ramen and eggs in it. He then started the car and drove away.
"Ayo Jun!" Soonyoung yelled as soon as Jun walked into homeroom. Kwon Soonyoung--one of Junhui's closest friends, known each other for 12 years due to their parents' profession. "Yo, Soon!" the boy replied. "So about my mom giving your uncle a job, they want you two to come over for dinner Saturday to discuss," Soonyoung said in a serious tone. "Okay, thanks bro," Jun agreed. Jun's uncle had just graduated from the academy and was looking for work and thankfully, Soonyoung's mother was Chief of the police office she worked in. "Also, the English teacher is sick and they couldn't find a sub in time so we have a free period," Soonyoung smiled excitedly. "Nice!" Jun exclaimed. The bell then rung, signalling that it was time for class to start.

As soon as the bell rang, Minghao dashed out of class. He wanted to go to the store before he went home, and he didn't want Jun to take him. On the way to the store he saw Jung Jungkook and Lee Hoseok, also known as Wonho, near an alley way which to him seemed suspicious, but there was nothing too alarming so he went on his way.
"That'll be $10," said the store clerk and Minghao gave him a $10 bill, "Thanks, come again," the clerk smiled and Minghao smiled back at him. Minghao dug into his bag and took out a box of pocky and began eating it as he cruised the sidewalk. He walked past the same alleyway he saw two of his schoolmates hanging around, when he passed, Wonho walked out of it. Wonho panicked at the sight of Minghao and ran. "Hey! Why are you-", Minghao tried to call for him but it was too late. That was strange. He thought. Curious, he went into the alleyway to find a beaten and passed out Wonwoo. His first instinct was to call his best friend and tell him what he saw. "I'm on my way," Jun exclaimed before hanging up the phone. Minghao then walked closer to Wonwoo and crouched down to check his pulse. "Thank god he's still breathing. But this doesn't make sense. Jeon Wonwoo doesn't bother anyone, so what could he have done to make a softie like Wonho go nuts and do this to him," he mumbled. Just then Jun came around the corner. "Hao!! What happened is he still breathing?!" Jun exclaimed as he ran over. "Yea, but we need to take him to a hospital asap," Minghao said in a bit of panic. Jun then helped Minghao pick up Wonwoo, put him in the car, and drive him to the hospital.
