Chapter 5: The Wake [010]

About a week later

"It's been a week and we've done nothing to figure out who did this," Jun said as he looked at Wonwoo in the hospital bed, "I feel like we lied to Somin." "We didn't..." Minghao stated, "It's just hard to think. Maybe we should just wait for him to wake up, it'd be a bit easier you know?"

Just then Minghao looked over to Wonwoo to see a surprise. "Jun, he's awake," he said, tapping Jun's arm. "Are you okay? Does your body hurt? What happened?" Jun asked in a haste. "Jun calm down he just woke up, you're scaring him," Minghao pulled Jun away. Wonwoo just stared at the two for a while. "Do you remember anything?" Wonwoo just stared again, "Place....reputation....nobody...." Wonwoo mumbled. "Hmm?" Minghao hummed in question, "I couldn't hear that." "Know my place..." Wonwoo spoke up a bit, "...stay away..." "Your place?" Jun questioned, and Minghao got a bit mad, "stay away from who?" "His reputation...I'm....a nobody..." Wonwoo continued. "Well who the f*ck said that, they have no right," Minghao was pissed. "Hao, calm down," Jun pleaded, "who said that to you?" he asked. Wonwoo just shrugged his shoulders, not knowing and not caring. "Bro," Jun sighed. "You've been in the hospital passed out for an entire week after we found you beaten half way to death. If those words are the only thing you remember, the person who said is most likely the same person to do this." Just then Minghao mumbled, "It's not like we could turn them in, the police is too unreliable." "That's not true," Jun replied causing Minghao to scoff. "Don't you remember anything?" Jun asked, "Hao, did you see anything?" "I saw Wonho..." Minghao began, "walking out of the alley, looked like he was crying. He ran when he saw me, then I went in and found Wonwoo." he explained. "So Wonho did this...." Jun scratched his head in confusion. "I don't know for sure but it's a possibility," Minghao stated causing Jun to sigh.

Wonwoo was silent for a moment then sighed. He then scoffed after a bit more silence then sighed once more. He looked up and stared at the two Chinese boys then continued to stare into space as if he was lost in thoughts.  

"When can I leave?" Wonwoo asked after snapping out of his thoughts.  "I need to do a check up to make sure everything's alright, although you may have to stay for a few more days just to make sure you don't randomly pass out due to overexertion," said the doctor as he walked in the room. "Ahh Dr. Hong, he just woke up a few minutes ago," Jun stated. "Thank you," he nodded in appreciation.

"Okay Wonwoo, does you head hurt?" He shook his head no. "What about your face? Does it hurt when you make a certain expression? Talk? Blink?" He shook his head no once more. "And your body is it still sore?" He shook his head again. "Can you move okay?" He nodded his head yes. "Okay," Dr. Hong sighed, "I'll be back to tell you'll when you can leave," he stated before leaving.

A few hours of awkward silence (caw caw caw) had passed and then Somin busted through the door. "Woo you're awake!" she sobbed as she ran and hugged Wonwoo, waking a dozing off Minghao in the process. "I lost my game," Jun pouted. Wonwoo let out a small 'ow' as his sister squeezed him into a hug, "Hey Minnie," he groaned in pain. "Somin dear, you're hurting your brother," Wonwoo's mom smiled nervously and Somin loosened her grip. "Mom," Wonwoo said with no expression but you could see in his eyes that he was happy to see her. "Wonwoo, honey," his mom began to tear up. "Don't cry mom, I'm fine," he assured. "But, but," she began to cry, "look at you, my baby." "Who ever did this to you is gonna pay," Somin said, still sobbing, "I have the whole cheer team by my side, they're all whipped for you, they'll help." "I-" was all Wonwoo could let out.

"You need to find out who actually did it first," Minghao before there was a knock on the door. "Oh, there's more people here today," said Zhoura as she walked in. "Oh, who is this?" Wonwoo's mom asked. "Hi, I'm Hao's Aunt, Zhoura, nice to meet you, you are?"Zhoura smiled. "I'm Woo's mom, nice to meet you too. I'm so grateful for your nephew," Wonwoo's mom sniffled a bit. "Aww," Minghao's aunt hugged her. "Auntie, what do you need?" Minghao asked. "My shift just ended. Do you want a ride home, or are you going to stay a bit longer?" she stated. "I'll go with you," Minghao said grabbing his things. "Auntie~" Jun cooed, "can I have a ride too? Nanny has the car-" "Of course Jun," Minghao's aunt smiled.

"So have you found out who did it yet?" Zhoura asked. "No," Minghao answered, "We don't even know how to start an investigation," he added. "But we know someone who does..." Jun smiled mischievously. "Ohh?" Zhoura was intrugued. "Oh god," Minghao burried his face into his hands. "Soonyoung!" Jun exlaimed.
