CLAYS POV

After getting back from breakfast, Clay had sent a few more texts to george with of course no reply. He checked in with Sapnap to see if george had been online at all and surprisingly he hadn't. The next few hours went by of him and Sap just practicing for MCC.

At around 2pm he decided he should try texting Ava.

Ava

Hey is this ava? its clay btw

Hey! yeah its me i just got off work :)

The two of them began talking about various things. The conversation actually flowed really well. They talked about some of their favorite things, apparently Ava had always wanted to learn to play Minecraft, but honestly she was probably just saying that to impress Clay. He told her a bit about George, but overall he avoided that topic entirely. He was still completely dumbfounded at how George had just up and ghosted him like that, but he was going to see him tomorrow anyways.

Tomorrow, him and Wilbur had planned the well anticipated Pizza Hut meetup. George was supposed to be there of course but at this point clay didn't know what to expect. Right now though, clay was focused on much more important things.

He actually really liked Ava. She was sweet and funny, and best of all she seemed simple. Nothing complicated about her. Not her being clays best friend for 5 years, not her completely ignoring him after he "flirted" a little bit. None of that. He found out some more things about her, apparently she sang in a band, just a group of friends really, but that didn't make clay think it was any less cool.

It was refreshing talking to Ava. She had different interests and best of all, completely different friends. She didn't know hardly anything about clay. He wanted to change that with time of course but it was so nice having just a clean slate and not having to worry about stupid issues.

GEORGES POV

That day George spent his time actually getting a lot done. Anything to keep his mind off of Clay. He had woken up around 9, ignored clays texts, showered, and got dressed. For what exactly? he didn't know. He decided to just do what he normally did only, out of his own house and of course without talking to Clay.

He grabbed his scooter from the corner of his room, as well as his laptop and mask of course, and he walked out the door. He scootered to the nearest coffee shop that was open. He gathered himself for a moment, and went inside.

Despite how close he lived he had never actually been to this place, it was called Rue's. The place seemed really nice, big windows, not too small but not huge, and it wasn't crowded which George liked. He walked up to the counter and ordered just a warmed coffee cake. Despite how he got called weird for it constantly, he didn't like coffee or tea, so he got himself a glass of water from the fountain in the corner.

He sat at a seat up against the window and after he got settled, he started editing his upcoming video: Minecraft, but my friend is a parrot. He hadn't thought about it before but the whole point of today was to try and forget about Clay, not watch hours of clips of them joking around like they had before. Of course George couldn't cut his best friend off completely, he couldn't handle that. But some distance, well quite a lot of distance, is what George intended to keep. As hard as he tried he couldn't escape the feeling of an "inevitable" falling out.

He tried to focus his thoughts back onto his work but of course that only made it worse. He longed for the stupid smalltalk between him and his best friend. He missed annoying the hell out of clay when he was trying to do something serious, always eventually getting a laugh out of him. Thats all he wanted. But of course his own destructive thoughts told him that would never be possible again.
