Clay's POV

Clay woke up before George. At first he felt overall pretty good, until the events of the night had set in. He felt a million things at once, guilty, terrified, and most of all he felt regret. He didn't want to regret it. He thought that was exactly what he wanted. I mean the kiss itself was I mean, wow. It was unforgettable to say the least but clay wanted to forget it more than anything. He wasn't sure if he was just scared or if it was just simply not what he wanted. He tried to just forget about it but that would be impossible once George woke up.

Clay figured he might as well wake his friend who was still cuddled up quite close to him. Before waking George he checked his phone for the time when he saw multiple texts from Ava at around 7am.

Ava

CLAY

clay omg aren't you staying at the hotel that CAUGHT FIRE

are u ok?? text backkk

HEY SORRY yeah im totally fine!

It was my hotel but everyone's safe thank god

I cant believe you remembered omg

you must be stalking me or something XD

Clay and Ava had still been texting quite a lot except for the night before of course, clay was obviously busy doing, well, other things. It caught him by surprise at how she cared enough to check in, they were still just barely acquaintances but he really was starting to like her.

As he waited for Ava to reply, he decided it was time for waking George, he dreaded the conversation they would soon be having but it had to be done. Clay reached over and gently shook George awake and tried to act like he had just woken up as well. He stretched and turned around to face clay, no expression on his face.

"morning" Clay said as he tossed the blankets off and sat up. He tried to make completely normal conversation hoping George wouldn't bring up the obvious elephant in the room.

"morning" George replied with an inviting smile. It seemed like he didn't want to bring it up either but it was obvious that George didn't regret it like clay did with the way he was grinning.

Clay couldn't stop thinking about how he really wanted to love his moment with George but something about it was frankly, revolting. A big part of Clay wanted to just erase the memory completely, the thought of it making him slightly nauseous. Why did he feel like this? He seemed so sure he wanted something more with his friend, but truthfully he hadn't been as sure since they met in person. Clay wasn't even into guys it was just a weird little crush, so why did he want it to work out so badly? Why was he so disappointed he didn't like the kiss?

"Earth to Dreammm? hello?" George said now sitting up in front of clay waving his hands in the air slightly.

"Oh um sorry what?" He said being startled out of his thoughts.

"I asked what you wanted to do today?" George was still looking right at the blonde, but clay did everything he could to occupy his eyes elsewhere.

"Its up to you but can we eat something first I'm starving"

"Yeah lets go downstairs we can make pancakes or something" George got up and motioned for clay to follow.

George was strangely energetic in the morning. Clay was quite the opposite, especially today. He sat behind the island counter watched as the older boy rushed around the kitchen getting the few ingredients he needed. He didn't realize he was staring until his phone went off. He smiled at the text from the cute waitress.
