DREAMS POV

Dream sat at his desk, his room was only dimly lit by his computer screen that was displaying the dream team SMP. As he went around filling various creeper holes, he glanced at the time: 4 am. His mind immediately translated that to 9am UK time, george should be awake soon.

He often found that his mind gravitated to thinking about his best friend, whether it be knowing his sleep schedule or the occasional daydream about what it would be like to hug him for the first time. It wasn't anything more than wandering thoughts, after all they were best friends who spent a lot of their time speaking to each other.

Recently, though, dreams mind kept venturing to one specific night- the night george said he loved him.

To all of their fans, it just seemed like an ongoing bit that george was uncomfortable saying he loved dream. Everyone often had a lot of fun thinking of creative ways to get george to say those 3 words, even dream and sapnap joked with george about it off stream.

That night, george had already been streaming for 6 hours, him and dream competed in their first MCC and george had decided to keep streaming hardcore speedruns. After awhile dream joined the TS again and thus started the infamous bet.

The stream chat suggested that if dream beat the game before george- who only needed 2 enderpearls- george had to say he loved dream. if dream failed, he had to show george what he looked like. After an hour and a half of george and dream bickering and trying to scam the other, dream did not fulfill his end of the bargain and ultimately ended up leaving the call. george decided to be the older man that he is and ended the dramatic stream with "i... love you dream"

While twitter stans were freaking out that george finally said the words, dream was too busy overthinking.  He didn't realize how badly he wanted to hear those words back. He knew george was just playing along with the bit, for content, but it didn't stop him from overthinking more than he ever had before.

Ever since that night, dream has found his mind wandering back to george a lot more than usual. He wasn't quite sure why there was a sudden change, but he kept replaying George's words in his head "i... love you dream" he wondered why he was so hesitant to say it in the first place. He ultimately blamed it on george wanting to be dramatic for the fans, for content. More importantly, Dream wondered why he couldn't stop thinking about his best friend.

Dream didn't connect the dots, but ever since george said the words, george himself had been acting a little off. Dream figured he was acting strange because well, dream had been having trouble keeping normal conversation with george. He thought he was making it too obvious that he.... that he what? That's the thought dream always seemed to get caught on. why was he spending so much time thinking about george? and why was he scared that george knew something was off?

Dream's train of thought was conveniently cut off by the familiar discord message sound. He immediately knew who it was based on his friends sleep schedule that he was a bit too familiar with.

"Hey, ur finally awake" were dreams first words after george joined TS.

Dream could hear george yawn and reply a faint "yeah it took me awhile to fall asleep, so i slept in" in his signature sleepy voice.

"oh how come? do you wanna talk about it?" dream asked, immediately regretting it. he felt like he was overstepping a boundary even though he clearly wasn't. Dream decided to take a quick breath and separate himself from the thoughts that had consumed him minutes before. After all he was just talking to his best friend of 5 years, nothing had changed.

George hesitated and replied "i dunno just had a lot on my mind i guess"

Dream decided not to intrude any further and suggested the two practice for MCC.

After a few minutes dream was able to start acting normal and forget about all of his fast paced confusing thoughts from just before george called.

At around 6am Dream decided to take a break and eat breakfast. Realizing the time and how little he had slept the night before, dreams attention was brought to how strange his sleep schedule was. It was almost mimicking a certain European's.

His sleep schedule may have been matched up to george's but he admittedly got half as much sleep as his friend, always going to bed after him, and waking up before. He brushed this off though, he had tons of friends from the UK, of course he was going to have a bit of a weird schedule to keep up with them.

i'm not sure if this started off  TOO slow and not enough happened but the next parts will obviously have more action😼 this was more of an intro.
plus i haven't written in FOREVER so how am i doing?? i really can't tell
