CLAYS POVToday was the day, finally George would have to come out of his weird isolation. Clay couldn't wait to see what excuse George would come up with. He started off his day like he had the day before only in a much better mood this time.
The night before he had stayed up on the phone with Ava, it was honestly just much better than texting. They joked around a ton and actually got to know each other quite well, or at least he got to know her. Clay had always had a hard time opening up to people, weirdly enough though he felt very comfortable talking to Ava despite them being practically strangers. She was different from any girl he had ever talked to.
He called Sapnap to practice more for MCC. He immediately started telling him about Ava and, of course, Sap hyped him up for picking up a random English waitress. Somehow she already felt like more than some stranger to clay though.
Next came the question Sapnap was dreading.
"So have you talked to George at all, he still hasn't texted me"
"oh um yeah we talked a bit yesterday" Sapnap tried to brush off the question to avoid further ones.
What? So George could find the time to call sapnap but couldn't even bother a single text back. At this point George had to be upset about something else. Or was he still that weirded out by clays behavior? Of course clays mind was bombarded with questions but he figured he was going to see George soon enough.
"oh really" Clay made sure to add a little bit of curiosity to his tone so that sapnap knew to elaborate on their conversation.
"I mean we only talked for a bit he was um, just really busy editing that new video."
"Yeah that makes sense I guess"
The two talked for awhile until it was time for clay to get ready.

"Wilbur!" clay shouted as soon as he got close enough to the tall boy.
"Clay! hey man how's it going"
The two were slightly awkward at first, this being their first meeting and all, but they caught up with eachother and talked for awhile sitting on a nearby bench. It had been about 20 minutes and no word from George.
"George is coming right? He told me he was yesterday." Wilbur asked, figuring clay would know.
"Oh well im not sure I actually haven't heard from him in, a few days" So George had the time to answer Wilburs texts but of course not his best friends, because that makes perfect sense.
"DAYS? that's funny, but really where is he" Wilbur laughed
"No im serious he won't talk to me at all, its getting ridiculous" Clay said although he didn't really want to talk about it.
Wilbur got out his phone and rang George, with no answer.
GEORGES POV
George stood there listening to his phone ring over and over, eventually silencing it. He knew he had to show up, he couldn't avoid clay completely, plus the content would be immaculate. He was waiting just around the corner from the Pizza Hut, but his legs wouldn't let him move any closer. Was he just supposed to act like everything was normal?
Despite him and clay not talking at all for over a day, so much had changed. George had absolutely no clue what clay was thinking or feeling right now but he could only assume the worst. Eventually, he forced himself to answer Wilburs call.
