- Calum -
The next day I went by the shop at an hour that I knew Bucky would be there. When I entered his office he looked up at me confused " Calum what the hell are you doing here? You should be working!" He said angered.
" I came to tell you that I quit."
" Oh, well it was nice to have you in this family. Goodbye Calum there will always be space here for you."
You'd think that's how he'd react. But no. We got in a big argument. It ended with me telling him something between go to hell and suck my ass old man.
When I left his office I went to Vic and Ashley to say goodbye. While I was saying goodbye Vic invited me to the wedding and Ashley to visit regularly. Then I went home and called Luke to pick me up.
" Uhh Luke?"
" Hello Calum. What can I do for you?"
" Uhm you told me to call you when I quit. Well I just quit."
" Ohh right. Tell me your address and I'll pick you up."
" East twelfth street. It's a small, one story mint green house."
" Okay. See you soon."
" Well that was awkward." I muttered to myself.
" What?" I heard Luke and looked down to my phone and saw that I hadn't ended to call. I quickly tapped various times on the red button on the screen.
" Well that was even more awkward." I told myself.
One hour and two Coca Cola cans later Luke showed up at my house. He knocked on the door for like five minutes because I was watching Agents of Shield and nothing comes in between me and Phil Coulson.
When I opened the door I saw Luke standing there. He didn't notice me at first but when he did he started talking.
" I'm sorry I took so long. It's just that I got lost. And when I asked for directions they sent me to a whole other place-"
I looked at him nodded and said " It's ok."
He looked kind of relieved that I didn't get mad. And then the awkwardness came back. He just kept looking at me and I looked at the ground. We stood there like that for what felt like centuries but in reality was like three minutes.
" Shall we go?" I asked to break the ice.
" Yeah sure. Where to?"
" Uhm where I'm supposed to work?" This guy just gets weirder by the second.
" Ohh right. I forgot." How did he forget. That's the only reason I'm here.
Half an hour later we arrived at a big mansion. Just like the ones you see in movies. Just this one didn't have a fountain thingy. And the gates were controlled by a remote he had and not by some fancy security guard. But for the rest it was just like a movie.
We got out of his car and headed towards the huge glass doors. And then he said the stupidest thing ever.
" I'm sorry if it's not to your liking. But it's the only one they would give us." How can I not like this place? It's huge and pretty. And if there's wifi that's a bonus.
" I like it don't worry." I told him smiling.
" Okay then let me show you around." He said and opened the door. If I thought the outside was pretty the inside was beyond that. It wasn't to luxurious but it had simple things that made it seem beautiful.
To my right I saw what seemed like a living room. The coffee table was made out of a door I think and there was a huge brown couch. There were many more simple things but what made it so pretty was that they were things you didn't see everyday.
We went farther in the house and it was all as pretty. I wonder if he decorated it or someone else. Bug the one who did had a great taste.
We went further into the house. It was all as pretty. Then we were in the kitchen. It was huge to say the least it was like five times my bedroom.
In the middle on of the kitchen sitting on the kitchen counter was a lady. She looked a little like Luke. Blue eyes and blonde hair. She was in a fancy dress but at the same time it seemed casual.
" Hello. Who are you?" She asked directing the question to me.
" I- I- I'm Calum." I stuttered out.
" Well, Calum. Why are you here? Wait let me guess. You're one of Luke's new conquests." She said looking me up and down. If I didn't feel so intimidated right now I most probably would have answered her in a sassy way.
But before I could even stutter something out Luke answered. " No he's not, Melissa. He's our new worker. I told you." He said it in a pissed off kind of way.
" Ohh well in that case. Hello Calum. I'm Melissa Luke's wife." And she stuck out her hand for me to shake it.
" Calum" I said stretching my hand out as well an
Shaking hers.
" Bye Calum. I'll see you around." And she left the kitchen. That was awkward. I don't know if I'm the awkward one or this family is the awkward one.
" Don't mind Melissa. She gets bipolar sometimes. You can see around the house if you want just don't go upstairs." Luke said and left me in that huge kitchen in an unknown house.

After I left Calum I went to Melissa' room where I knew she would be. And I just barged in there.
" Didn't they teach you to knock first?" She asked sarcastically.
" Why would you do that?" I asked her getting straight to the point.
" Do what?" She asked innocently.
" Tell him you were my wife. That must have scared him off right away." I whined.
" I want to see how long he's gonna stay. Maybe he'll even beat the pool cleaner', Jack, record." She smiled and left the room.
In her very own twisted way Melissa helped me and she knew I knew.
