Kayla's P.O.V
"Ok, ok, I got this. It's going to be fine. Right? Oh god. Maybe I should just turn around, you know, there are other jobs." I thought to myself as I rode the elevator up to the BAU floor. Before I could change my mind the doors of the elevator opened and I saw an excited face staring at me. Maybe a little two excited.
"Are you Kayla Southwood?" The blonde woman asked.
"Yes, and you are" I asked admiring her brightly colored dress and jewelry.
"Oh gosh, I'm sorry. I'm Garcia, Penelope, Penelope Garcia. Agent Hotch asked me to greet you and bring you to his office when you arrive." She said nervously.
"Oh, okay. Nice to meet you Garcia." I said kindly as we walked through the big glass doors.
Garcia dropped me off at Hotch's office and she lingerd for a while smiling.
"Garcia." Hotch stated.
"Oh yes sorry." She giggle and ran off after giving me one last smile.
"She's friendly" I laughed looking back at Hotch.
"That's one way of putting it. Listen Kayla, I know its your first day but after reading your profile, I really think you have what it takes for this job. Usually I would give you more of a warm up day but I just got news of a pretty big case that California needs our help on. Are you ready to meet the team and get started?"
"Of course sir." I stated as confidently as I could. I followed Hotch out of his office and on the balcony.
"BAU team, meet in the round table room please." Hotch called to the group of people busy at their desks. I watched as 6 agents shuffled into the round table room. They all gave me curious looks as they walked in. I couldn't help put notice how adorable one of them was.
"Team this is Agent Kayla Southwood. She's worked with at a BAU in the past so she knows what she is doing. She will be joining our team." Hotch told the team.
"Hi." I said with a smile. A woman with dark hair walked up to me.
"Emily Prentis." She shook my hand and smiled. Garcia then cut in.
"You already met me but hello again." She pulled me into and awkward hug. Another man came up and pulled Garcia away.
"Sorry she gets excited sometimes. Nice to meet you, I'm Morgan, Derek Morgan." I smiled and shook his hand.
"David Rossi." an older man smiled giving me his hand.
I looked to his left to see a tall man with floppy hair and a tight grip on his bag. I smiled.
"Hi- uh- I'm uh Dr. Spencer Reid. You don't have to call me doctor. Just Spencer." he said frantically.
"Uh, nice to meet you Spencer." I said a bit confused. I held out my hand and he just waved.
"Oh uhm okay." I said turning to the blond woman next to me.
"I'm J.J" she smiled and shook my hand.
"Okay well now that we have all met why don't we begin briefing, Garica."
"Yes sir" Garcia said as she scrambled to the remote. The rest of us sat down. I sat accross from Spencer who was avoiding eye contact.
"Elle Thunderman's body was found at a children's park after being declared missing for two months. She is the 4th victim dumped at a chilld's park, each one being dumped at a different play set. Anna- swings, Audrey- monkey bars, Shea- a tunnel, and Elle- a slide." Garcia stated, obviously disturbed.
"What was the C.O.D?" Morgan asked.
"Strangulation, but here's the catch. Only about 24 hours before the body was found." Garcia answered.
"So that means he keeps them each for two months kills them and the dumps them at playsets. Why so long?" Rossi questioned.
"So what this guy has something against children or the women?" Morgan asked.
"Well there are no realtions between the women that we know of. So, they may be at random. I think there is a high likelyhood our guys reasoning has something to do with the dump sight, not the women." I added.
"Most likely, lets check out the crime scene and morgue to make sure. Garcia get a run of the victims background, see if there is anything connecting them that the police may have missed." Hotch requested. Garcia nodded and the rest of us head for the plane.
I really hope I made a good impression. I'm more worried about finding justice for these women before the un-sub strikes again.
