Spencer's P.O.V
Kayla and I walked around the playset, looking at the spots where the dead bodies had been dumped. It was almost creepy to watch children play where 4 women were dropped off killed.
"Why are there still children here? Wouldn't parents not want their kids playing here after everything that happend?" Kayla broke the silence.
"Actually no. Not if the parents don't know. They are being kept in the dark on this. It's better that way so our un-sub doesn't get anxious." I answered.
"Yeah, that makes sense. Okay we are missing something here Reid. What is it?" Kayla said. I looked at her as she gazed over the playground.
"Wait Spencer, call Garcia." Kayla asked. I picked up my phone and dialed Garcia.
"Hello my handsome smarty, how may I help you." Garcia teased through the phone.
"Garcia, you said there were no ties between the victims except their ages were all roughly the same right?" Kayla asked.
"Yes mam'n" Garcia answered.
"It makes sense for him to stick to the same age group if he's feeling out of control. He needs consistency. Do we really want to read into their ages too much?" I questioned. Kayla shot me a look. She looked a little embarrassed to state her point now.
"Well yeah, consistency. But, thats not what im getting at. Garcia add the team to the call please." Kayla defended. Garcia added the rest of the team.
"Okay guys, our unsub targeted women about thirty to thirty two. Thats the average age to have children today. I think our unsub might be punishing the women afterall. He is living in some alternate world where rules from the past still exist. He probably thinks that women who don't have children by a certain age are no use and therefore must be killed off. Once they are dead he wants to show them off at a park so that other women can see what will happen to them if they dont abide by the rules. " Kayla said.
"okay but why the same park." Hotch asked through the phone.
"Because he is living in an mindset of a small community. In this kind of small comunity, there would only be one park. " Kayla said. "Its all just theory, but its the best I can think of. "
"No it makes sense. He's on a psychotic break and thats his visionary. Often times people in a mental episode will see themselves in a different world. Thats what this guy sees. " Morgan added.
"All we need is the evidence. Garcia?" Hotch asked.
"Already on it sir." Garcia said hanging up the phone.
" Okay lets go back to the police departement" Kayla said.
"Yeah, okay." I added stunned. She smiled at me.
"Impressed?" She asked
"Actually yes." I said.
"Don't be too intimidated Spencer. Still a genius?"
"Well yes." I stammerd.
"Then you have nothing to worry about." She joked playfully touching my arm. Her touch was so perfect. I just giggled and we walked back.
