Flashback:

Another dumb party at the Lockwood's mansion. Father always forces me to go to these. He says I will hopefully fall in love with the youngest Lockwood, George, but stuck up rich boys aren't my type. It's not like I will ever get a choice though. My father controls my future, and if he wants me to marry George Lockwood, I will.

I arrived at the party with Stefan, Damon and my father. The whole carriage ride over to the Lockwood's my father and I had to listen to Stefan and Damon bicker over who is Katherine's date tonight. Both of them were too stupid to realize that she is playing them.

I walked up the steps into the mansion in my royal blue gown. The Lockwood's servants were waiting outside greeting the guests and taking their coats and bags. George was waiting inside the mansion for my family and I to greet us. I tried to smile at him, but my smile turned into a poker face with rolled eyes.

"Mr. Salvatore. " He shook my father's hand. "Stefan. Damon"  He nodded towards them. "Please come in."

"Thank you, George, boy." My father was always very fond of George. He said it was because he was very intelligent and because he actually fought through most of the war until he was forced to come home because of an injury, unlike my brother, Damon. In my opinion, my father only wants me to marry him because of his wealth. "Sophia, say hello to George." He stared me down until I finally said hello and thanked him for inviting me. "I'll leave you two alone. Stefan, Damon, don't annoy your sister. " He started to walk away, but whispered in their ear, "Go be useful like your sister."

They didn't say a word, and walked away looking for Katherine.

"Sophia, may I take your hand?" George said holding out his hand and waiting for me to agree to dance with him. I hesitated, then took his hand. If I didn't, I'm sure he would have told his father who would have told my father and I would probably be locked in my room for a year.

We waltzed around the ballroom with a bunch of founders. George constantly gave me googley eyes and I tried with all my mighty to avoid eye contact. Don't get me wrong, George was very handsome and unsually strong, but he is also an idiot. When we were 10, he kept pretending that he saw a wolf in the woods, but there was never any wolves. From what Damon said, he constantly ran away from a squirrel.  Pathetic.

"Sophia? Sophia?" I was completely zoned out while dancing with George.

"Oh, um, yes?"

"I need a drink. Would you like one?"

"No, thank you."

"Okay, wait here. I will be right back."

I nodded and he walked off. I was not going to wait there. I walked off hoping he didn't see and I found Damon lurking. He was standing in the archway between the ballroom and the dining room. Stefan was waltzing with Katherine.

"I don't understand what you two see in her. It's like she has you manipulated." I say watching Stefan with him.

"At least, we are actually in love and we aren't hiding from someone who might be our spouse someday."

"I'm only sixteen. I shouldn't have to find love yet. I'm not going to be sixteen forever."

"But, you do need to grow up sometime. "

I woke suddenly. It was just a dream. I buried my face in my hands and shook my head. I lifted my head and laughed a little. I can't believe I remember small memories like that. I laughed again.
