I stand by my car as the man at the cashier comes over with some jumper cables.

"Ah! You got a Jeep I see!" He gives a goofy looking grin, that just makes sense for him to have.

No shit Sherlock.

I don't say that...yet I wanted to.

"Yeah, she's twelve years old..not too surprised that she is having some troubles." I rest my hand on the purple coating of the door, while the man pops open the front of my Jeep to get a better look.

"Yeaaah- my girl is five years old, and even she has some troubles. Surprised your girl lasted longer than she did."  He points back to his truck, which looks to be a Ford. Fucking hate Fords.

He hooks up the jumper cables into my car and gives it a boost, as I try to start it up, but nothing seemed to be working. The man comes back out of the car, scratching his head

"That's odd.." He removes the jumper cables, leaning into to see if anything else was going on. There's nothing I could really do but stand there awkwardly. I don't know shit about fixing cars.

"I can't exactly see what's goin' on..and I would offer you fellas to stay if it wasn't gettin' so late-" I noticed he looked up at the sky, so I did too. I examined the sunset with a sigh.

"It's okay sir, I'm sure we can-"

"Where you fellas heading to?" he interrupts me, which throws me off guard for a second.

"Uh..New York."

"Well, you guys got a journey ahead of you don't ya-" He peeks his head from out of the car, and I nod in acknowledgment "Youse got a place to stay?"

"No..I was just going to stop at a hotel once we got to New York."

He scratches his head yet again, like he has lice or something "Hm..Well..Would you and your fellas be comfortable stayin at my place the night? Next morin' I can have a look at the car and get you guys back on the road again. I'm sure my wife wouldn't mind having company for a day."

I pause. Too many things were being thrown at me at once, I really can't take anything in thought  without freaking out. I look back up at the man, giving a friendly smile

"That would be amazing, thank you."

He grins, Closing the Jeep's hood "Alright! You round your folks together while I close up the shop." He paused, pulling a cigar out of his back pocket "Little side job to earn some extra money you know how it is." He walks away, leaving me beside the broken down, sad looking Jeep. Now that I think about the store, It did seem like a family buisness. It was pretty worn down, definitely different from regular gas stations. It also had a little knick-knack shopping area, with items that would be in some old grannies house.

...Damn I got a long night ahead of me.
