Chapter 7

  Morning was on us . I woke up groggy and after reading the Bible and praying . I got showered and dressed in warm clothes a tshirt , sweater ,pants , and bobby socks. I preferred casual clothing and dressed accordingly . Walking down stairs I saw no one was up or they weren't home yet from protrol . They all took shifts including the woman when they weren't pregnant. Tomorrow was my first time . I didn't have to but I wanted to as I felt was my duty protect my pack which I had now grown to love in the few short months . Arlo said he would take the shift with me to show me the lands and how to mark territory. I was grateful to him but told him he didn't have to if he didn't want too as he already had his shift last night . He proceeded to tell me that he stayed up most nights anyway . Which I chided him for gently but I saw his face cloud over once I asked why.He had shut down and looked at me with a expression of don't ask . I sigh  not prying but it hurt me why he still didn't tell me . I had turned away and he lets a whimper escape his lips while he whispered " Sorry." He had kissed my forehead in apology  . Looking around at the empty kitchen and living lounge room off of it . I began to think what it will be like to have kids and if I'd be a good mother . Also carrying a child I had a feeling I'd be under lock and key with Arlo being my mate . I hope he'd open up to me and fully realize that I more then likely would stay with him unless the Lord would lead me else where. 

  "If you did leave I'd follow you .Sorry I can't help but overhear your surface thoughts. "  His voice echo's through my mind slightly amused.I pouted at him but was back in a daze as I continue to think of random things . My head healed so I had to go work tomorrow. I was excited to get back into my favourite hobby of fixing cafe's . I heard a chuckle as I began to plan for tomorrow. "Remember Tyler's acceptance ceremony is tomorrow night . You both need to be back 6pm if you could. " 

  " Yes sir ." I tease back . I begin to make breakfast and make a scramble hash-brown mix. After creating a huge platter of food for everyone including the counsel and the kids. When everyone was up or back from patrol the place became lively .I found myself once again chatting and enjoying the chaos of the toddlers not wanting to eat or they loved it abit to much they were wearing it .

 " James get back here you scally wag. " Arlo was trying to feed him some apple sauce and James was having so much fun running away he forgot his shirt at the stairs . Arlo huffs but I could tell he was enjoying the chase in his amused mind state. 

 " NO.EHEHEHEHEH.!" he screeched happily running everywhere. Lupin finally catches him as he runs by ." Why daddy ?" James pouts at his dad and Lupin chuckles .

 " Arlo is trying to feed you breakfast .If you don't eat now you're going be whining that you're hungry all morning ." Lupin states to his son . James pouts but finally eats from Arlo . Sid eyed Liz and then looked at both Crystal and me . He smiles relaxing abit and leans back in his chair.I watched him do so relaxing my self . Sid was a good mood incaditor I found recently . If he was agitated as he fed off Leon's emotions.  Arlo was concentrated on feeding and I watch his reactions. I grin then mind linking him.

  " I think some is going to be wrapped around his kids fingers and his nieces and nephews fingers when the time comes . "  I tease him and he looks at me sharply for that. I grin and wave and he rolls his eyes at me. " Oh you did not just roll your eyes at me sir .!!"   I scoff and a clear smirk appears on his face . " You are going to get it tonight on patrol."  I say mildly threating him.

  " Oh am I we will see. Thanks for the warning before hand ."  I grumble thorough our link . I could hear a chuckle as I hear a splat . I refocus and see apple sauce on the spoon stuck to Arlo's shirt .

 " Hahahahahahah!!!!! you deserved that for rolling your eyes dude . "  I laugh in my head but then snort a bit publicly .

  "Whats going on you two you're clearly mind linking ?"  Leon says in the pack link clearly amused at the situation .  Arlo explains and I hear chuckling from Leon and the rest . Tyler looks confused and abit left out . I explain i to him and reassuring him once he does the acceptance ceremony he would hear the pack chat too. He nods looking out the window staring off into space .

 That afternoon I was dozing in the sun enjoying a good book I found tucked in a shelf in the hall wall downstairs . It was tattered and well loved I now understood why . I had found a small bench swing facing the creek that ran by the far side of the meadow space the pack house was nestled in. The other single cottages looked warm and cosy in this some what chilly air. Bits of snow still littered the ground in dirty piles . It was warm enough for sweaters for us wolves . I swung back and forth and watched the water babbling over the black stones. It was clear fresh with melt water that ran off the nearby mountains. I was happy to be able enjoy a day to myself for an exchange .After a stretch I hop up and go exploring taking in the sites and smells of spring . A hint of lily there ,a under tone of earthy mud . Oh there was a light wisp of corn flower . I put my wolf senses to the test spreading it out till I could do so no more. Following a scent I sneak up on a unspeceting deer who froze at the sight me . His ears raised and head erect he didn't move while I got closer but before I could touch his velvet nose he bolted. I kept exploring for another hour just wandering around pack land . I found a small water fall that was slow moving off the cliff face creating a pool that was then leading off into the under brush . Following it was a task but found where it lead . A pond was at the end of it with a small lead off route that headed into no mans land.  I turn back and head back towards the clearing . I shift to trot back and spot Seira waddling around in wolf form . She stops not seeing or smelling me . She makes a low whine and sits herself down . I see then a red russet wolf trotting up to her nuzzling and licking her . I realized then it was Ero her mate they were cuddling but Seria was clearly mouthing him complaining.  I creep away I whine gently as I kinda felt lonely as I explored by myself now. I dug out a old burro and rolled in the dirt. Shaking I trotted back to the pack house and my book on the bench swing . I pick it up in my mouth and head to the door of the pack house . I notice the huge doggy door .I walk in and head to my room changing back I shower. 

 " Zoey you here?" A soft voice was at my door . I knew it was Arlo by the timbre of his voice .

 " Come in ." I say from bed. 

 " Nah can't not allowed to girls room off limt unless we are married. " I get up and huff looking at him in my door frame . He was huge compared to it . " I felt your lonely feeling earlier are you ok ?" His face was expressing concern and his eyes were sad looking. I go to touch his face and then stop myself half way not sure why my hand was moving on my own. He moved his chin down in to my hand kissing my fingers. He grabs the hand and begins kissing my fingers gently and then it turns to nibbling . I gasp as little sparks of pain sends shivers down my arm . His eyes stared into mine I couldn't pull away at all his gaze had captured me . In that moment he was more rugged and open then I had ever seen him before. He then stopped and gently brushes my face with his thumb . The callouses were rough against my skin but it didn't hurt. He cups my face and leans in kissing my forehead gently .He then kissed my nose and eyes . Finally his lips brushed mine and he kissed me for the first time. I blush but I begin to kiss back my eyes close and I feel content . He pulls away staring at me and smiles softly. I was completely calm and I felt loved . After a few minutes of standing there he stretches ." Well I probably should go it was fun . I have to go paper work for Leon now. " He was so awkward about it he fumbled with his sentences it was cute . But I would never tell him that as it would ruin his image of inmateding  . " Night Zoey ." He kisses my forehead and leaves down the hall to the stairs. I head in abit surprised and happy . Laying on my bed I read and pray and sleep soundly .

  Arlo walked to his room silently . He had never felt so much love for someone except for the God he served . He had some hard times and some very painful times but it seemed with help of having a mate that those moments were leaving and bright happy ones were replacing them . Tonight was a blessing to find love again and understand he was in love . She was amazing and he now loved kissing her. He grins at himself chuckling as he gets in his room . Taking his shirt off and throwing it in the corner he heads in for a shower. After showering he works on the paper work in his pjs . Most was mostly reading and he got all of the reading finished before he started dozing at the desk . Rubbing his eyes he got up and sat on his bed reading and praying then he shut the lights off and slept.
