"Spence. Look, we gotta talk about this." JJ follows Reid into the open conference room. He wasn't in the mood to talk especially to her.
"I don't want to talk about it," Reid mutters getting a few folders from the desk.
"I get it, ok? You're disappointed with the way we handled Emily-" JJ starts, but stops as Reid abruptly turns towards the door.
"Listen, I have a lot going on, all right?" Reid starts leaving but JJ stops him.
"You know what I think it is?" JJ begins as he turns around to face her.
"What?" He snaps getting bored of the conversation.
"You're mad that Hotch and I controlled our micro-expressions at the hospital and you weren't able to detect our deception." JJ accuses as Reid looks at her in shock. Did she think that low of him?
"You think it's about my profiling skills?" Spencer sarcastically questions as JJ nods. "Jennifer, listen, the only reason you were able to manage my perceptions is because I trusted you. I came to your house for ten weeks in a row crying over losing a friend, I couldn't even look at Giuliette without feeling as if I was betraying Emily." He fumes as JJ starts tearing up.
"So this is about Giuliette? Ever since you guys started hanging out you have been distant with m-"
"Are you serious Jennifer? You and Emily were the ones I trusted with my whole life. The fact that after her death I cried to you, I mourned with you, I vented to you about everything and yes including Giuliette. I don't know what you have against her, but you're not going to speak about her like that especially to me. Besides you I had her. She was there whenever you were busy. She had to deal with plenty of shit because of your little prank. You didn't just play with my emotions, you played hers, and the whole teams. The thing that hurts more is that you were always there for me and not once did you have the decency to tell me the truth." Spencer concluded getting in her face.
"I couldn't" JJ whispered looking at the ground stunned on what Spencer said. She knew he was going to take it hard but she didn't think this hard.
"You couldn't or you wouldn't?" He snaps as his face goes red.
"No, I couldn't" She retorts getting tired of him making her feel like shit.
"What if I started taking Dilaudid again? Would you have let me?" Spencer taunted making JJ look at him as if he were crazy.
"You didn't..." She cautioned as he scoffs.
" Yeah, but I thought about it." He snaps heading towards the door. The rest of the team was in the back listening to the conversation from afar.
