Chapter 2: School Day

Kukan is jolted awake by a knock on his door. The fourteen year old, realizing he is still in his vigilante costume, quickly sheds it from his skin, locking in a chest hidden in his closet. He then gets dressed in a plain black gakuran uniform with yellow buttons, accompanied by white sneakers.

Around his neck is a silver chain, which he hangs his Mother's ring on. Also, hidden in his sock is a decent sized folding knife. Since he started being a Vigilante, he never left home without it.

His door then opens, to reveal a girl his age. She is a reasonably short girl with quite a mature build. She has salmon pink hair, which is generally shoulder-length, although it does vary, which is styled into thick dreadlocks and sideswept to her right. Her eyes are wide and sloped upwards with some notably long upper eyelashes, their irises yellow with a cross in the center, making them look somewhat like scope lenses.

She is wearing a plain seifuku with a Kansai collar, both the skirt and the shirt is black with a double yellow trim, which is paired with a red scarf that she ties loosely below. Over this, she wears an oversized beige cardigan with a rather long hem and cuffs, and pockets on either side, the right one shown to hold a number of trinkets on either a keychain or a cellphone strap. She sports knee-length black socks and dark brown dress shoes with thick heels

She says, "Nii-chan, breakfast is ready."

Kukan replies, "Thanks Mei-chan. I will come down as soon as I can."

As Mei closes the door, Kukan fingers the ring. He thinks, "Why did I have to dream about that day, again?"

He then begins to leave his room, getting a good look at himself in the mirror. The teen sports an undercut, with a geometric design shaved on the right side of his head. Kukan then frowns a bit, as he quickly wipes a tear from his eye. When did he start crying? He quickly disregarded the thought, and left his room.

Going down stairs, and into the dinning room, Kukan is met with the Hatsume Family. The Man, that he simply called Genji, is a slightly chubby, but muscular man, with crazy salomon pink hair. His eyes have yellow irises with a cross in the center, making them look somewhat like scope lenses.

Mei's mother, Mai, is just as beautiful, if not more than Mei. In fact, Mei is like a mini-me of her mother. Except for her mother, who has black hair, which is also styled into dreadlocks. Not as wild a Mei's dreads, but that didn't really matter.

Kukan says,"Good morning Genji, Mai. How are you two?"

Mai says, "We would love it if you called us Kaa-chan, and Tou-chan, Kukan. But we've been good. What about you."

Kukan then replies, "Sorry, but I just can't call you that. I thank you for adopting me, and all... But... I'm fine. Thank you for asking."

Genji gives a small smile, which is odd, as he is known for big, hearty, and boisterous laughs. He says, "That is fine Kukan, but the option is still there. Have a good day at school you two."

After eating breakfast, the two leave home, and go to school. When they get there, Kukan sees a thing that happens practically everyday. His best friend, one Izuku Midoriya, is getting beat up.

Izuku is somewhat short for his age, his round face framed by a short mess of fluffy dark-green hair which sticks up at odd angles around his head, casting noticeably dark shadows onto itself. His eyes are large and somewhat circular, their irises the same green color as his hair, which at times are very watery, usually stretched quite wide, giving him an innocent appearance. He has a set of four symmetrical freckles in diamond formations, one on each cheek, but despite these prominent traits, he's often described by others as being plain-looking.
Kukan sighs, as he says, "Go to class, Mei-chan. I'll catch up later."
