*Wolfix's POV*
The first day and night when Shadow didn't come back from running out of the mansion, I wasn't worried. EJ has come back still fuming and either she knew he'd go back to the mansion with a temper, or she was waiting a full day because she didn't know when he was going to be back at the mansion. The second, I thought she would come back to the mansion. When she didn't I was a little worried but I knew she could handle herself if she got lost. The third, I was worried. She usually comes back by now. We were getting ready to go search for her but then the letter came. It was a letter from Zalgo. Slender took it and read aloud, everyone curious and worried, and Jess more than anyone.
"Dear Slenderman,
I believe you have realised one of your proxies is missing. Let me end your wondering. I have her. She's paying for my loss of two demons, demons which you now have. There's no use in giving them back now, not that you'd want to anyway. Here's a picture of what I'm doing to your sneaky fox. Zalgo." Slender says. Once he finished, Jess collapses, crying. Sally and Lazari run up to her and comfort her, starting with hugging but then moving to stroking her wings like Shadow taught them. I then scan the room through tear filled eyes. They land on Crimson and Fury. They're both pale. They've been at Zalgo's mercy before and Shadow is definitely getting a worse treatment. And she's getting tortured because we rescued them. I feel an anger bubble up inside of me but I quickly suppress it. Shadow would have no regrets about putting her pain in front of rescuing two others. She would do it again if she had to. I move over to Slenderman. He senses what I want and he shows me the picture. I gasp. It's of Shadow. She's bloody and bruised, her arms mottled and covered in scars, a muzzle on her face. She's unconscious in the image but I could see light bags under her eyes. Uh oh. I've seen that before. It only may have been three days but she was putting up a fight to not sleep. She has insomnia. I'd seen it before. And I couldn't help her. We were the only ones who could help her and we didn't know where she was. She needed family, she needed her girlfriend. And we couldn't.
I could see Jess getting up in the corner of my ear. She walked up to us and took the photo. She starred at it with dry eyes.
"We're getting her back. I'm getting her back no matter what. And your all going to help me." She says. I stare at her with respect. She's never taken the leader position. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, this was her girlfriend, her mate, the one for eternity. Shadow is her's and she is Shadows. Nothing will change that, I know it. The next person to speak up was slender.
"Crimson, Fury, do you think you could see whether this is his underworld base?"
Fury nods but Crimson shakes her head.
"That's ok. Fury come here."
Fury runs Crimson's back before walking over to us and taking the picture. I could see the shock and anguish in his eyes but he pulls on a determined front and looks at it.
"No. I've never seen this cell. I don't remember all of the place..."
"But none of the cells were like this." I pipe up. Everyone looks at me. "When we went on the rescue mission, the only cells were like the ones Fury and Crimson were in. It was set up like a jail, not closed off rooms. This is a different base."
Slender nodded at me.
"Then she's at his surface base. Luckily I know where it is but it's going to take us weeks to prepare. I only know the location, not what it's like. We'll have to send scouts in advance-"
The meeting went on like this for a while. Once slender had finished, we were dismissed and I held Jess' hand and we walked to her bedroom, their bedroom. When we walked in, it was late. Everyone was going to sleep. Jess asked me to stay for a little while. She had been falling asleep without Shadow the last couple of nights and she didn't like it. They were joined at the hip, I couldn't blame her. I sat in the bed while she lay down. We stayed in that position for a while. After about 15 minutes her breathing changed, signalling to me that she was asleep. I just sat there in my thoughts for a while. I softly got up from the bed, not waking the sleeping broken angel next to me. I walked into the living room to see one of the lamps were on and EJ was sitting on a chair. His mask was off and he had his fav rim his hands. Huh? This isn't like EJ.
"You gonna just stand there?" He says, voice muffled by his hands but I could hear the pain in it. I sit down next to him. I don't really know what to do, EJ isn't one to cry so I've never been in this situation before.
"What's wrong?" I eventually say.
"Doesn't matter, it's my fault any way you look at it."
Ah, he blamed himself.
"You think cause you chased her out of the mansion, she got kidnapped?"
He flinched but nodded his head.
"Listen, even if you hadn't chased her out of the house, Zalgo was dead set in kidnapping her. I believe he would've waited for any time she was alone. You know Zalgo, he won't stop until he gets what he wants. We new what you reactions were like when you didn't get enough sleep. She was also protecting a new proxy. It's not your fault. He would've taken her some way or another when we let our guard down," I admit. "But we're going to get her back, no matter how long it takes."
EJ lifts his head from his hands and looks at me. I could see determination and new confidence in his expression. He was smirking.
"Yeah."
I just hope you can hold out for us, sister.

It has been three weeks since Shadow went missing. We had gotten three more letters after the first, each showing Shadow's condition. We knew that she wasn't being tortured anymore but she was still suffering. I was sitting in the couch, sharpening my spear. This was the day. This was the day I was getting my sister back. A mate, a friend, a leader, a demon, a sister. She was coming back today.

*Jess' POV*
Over the past few weeks, I've been training with Jane and Jeff. I'm not going to be the dead weight. I'm going to fight for my girlfriend. I'm going to rescue her. I summon my weapons, dual swords. They're two long Stygian iron blades, courtesy of Hades. He gave them to me when Shadow slept through dinner. He said had a loyalty that couldn't be denied and he said watching us would be entertaining. I was a little concerned but accepted the gift. Now they'll be put to use. I walk into the living room to see everyone assembled, brandishing their weapons. Wolfix stood at the front, her spear was glinting in the light and her eyes glowed with determination. Slender stood next to me and looked down at me.
"Let's go."
