*Shadow's POV*
I wake to the sun shining down on the one I loved. This time I flinched. This is how it begun. The kidnapping. I pull my head into Jess' chest and hold her tight, tears falling down my face. I feel a soft hand place itself on the back of my head and another snake under me. My body is shifted and soon I'm lying on top of Jess. The hand on my head moved to my pricked-down ears and stroked them, the soft movement, calming. I heard the rustle of wings rapping around our bodies, feeling an envelopment of warmth with the feathery black wings. With her radiating warmth, the soothing soft hands on my frame, I continued to calm down. My racking sobs subsided as I gave into the warmth coming off of my girlfriend.

The hand on my head went to my face as I lifted my head to look at her. She caressed my red cheek as my eyes flicked to her own face.
"What happened?"
"Remembered what started it all. Small trigger." I mumbled out.
"Then remember this. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and you are the strongest person I know."
I placed my head back on her chest as her hand retracted from my face. I turned it so I was watching as the light of the sun filtered through the curtains. A small smile crept its way onto my face. This was the day I wish I had the time for.
And you don't
Good morning to you too
Yeah yeah.
Someone's sour
I'm not sour, I've been planing and plotting all night and I need some action.
Ah, you want control after I had it for one night.
... I'm in the middle of a war
... fair enough. Just hold on for a minute.
I turn to Jess and she has the same expression as I do.
"Queen?"
She nods. I sighed.
"War."
And with that, we gave in. To the demons inside of us.

*Vixen's POV*
Red light on my closed eye lids faded as my eyes focused on the sunshine entering the room through the thin curtains on the east facing windows. The soft black wings surrounding my body retracted as I looked up to see Queen. Softly rolling off her body, I swung my legs off the bed and held my forehead as a ringing pain flared in my head from the sudden manoeuvre. As the headache of sorts died down, I stood up and shadows crept up my body. As the shadows crept over my head, I felt the power and I changed my clothes. My mission outfit swapped out for the clothes I was wearing and the shadows crept back down my body and slid back into the corners of the room. Looking over my outfit, there were no marks like I left it yesterday after the rescue mission. I reached back to the scythe materialising on my back. Pulling it over my head, it seemed to melt and solidify under my grasp, leaving me with a staff modelled for me exactly. I turn, leaning in the staff to see queen in her mission outfit. In her hands she held a silver crown. We walked out of the room to enter the war room.

I sit down in the chair at the head of the table, the chair I have occupied for the past days. In front of me sits the chess board. The white and black piece out of their starting positions, where I put them. Queen sat to my right. I looked over at her.
"What we discussed last night. We should put it into effect as soon as possible. We don't need to involve them but we might have to. I'd prefer if I could work with him as leaders rather than myself leading him."
She nods as slender enters the room.
"You called for me?" He says.
I stand up and walk over to the operator I had control over.
"Temporary operator control end."
The white face turned up in what may have been a smile.
"Accepted."
With the formalities over I explained what I was going to do.
"This is a war. We'll need as many operators on our side as we can. That includes making new ones."
"I understand. This means you'll be leaving. I assume Queen will lead with you and General is free to go where she wants."
I nod. That was the plan.
"We'll want to leave soon, maybe in 3 days. We want to put it into effect as soon as possible."
He nods at that.
"When this is all over, come back." He says.
I smile at him. It's a sad smile.
"Yeah."
And with that, the tall white man left the room. I turned to see Queen at the bookshelves surrounding the room. She had pulled out a particularly old one. I walked up to her, placing my head over her shoulder. She tilted her head to see me and moved away from the bookshelf. She gestured for me to follow as we went over to sit down at the table. She placed the book open to a page. On it was a very old picture of me. The opposite page was information. I turned my head to look at her. She didn't look up from the book but...
"I found this. It's a book on demons, specifically the most powerful ones."
I take the page and slowly go through them until I found the page I was looking for. I smiled at Queen. It was her page.
My smile immediately dropped when I turned my head to the book.
Does he...
I rifled through the pages to find what I wanted. I got to the last page and found it. Advantage and disadvantage. It had our suspect. But the suspect could have us. Does he have this book as well? The demon king's image was just a black silhouette. I guess no one had seen what he looked like. That might change soon...

Plans began to formulate and I summoned a drawing board. I began to plan out the building I was going to create, hopefully with Queen's help. She summoned a similar one and began to draw as well. We would combine ideas for the base.

That was how the rest of our day went, and the following too. The third day comes and I finish finalising the plans we had made. I collected our combined plans and looked over them one more time. I sigh knowing how draining this is going to be. We packed up the room and left replicas in place of the information regarding the war, we took. I scanned the books to make a list of what I would need to replicate. We then went back to our room. I grabbed a case for the information and chess board. We scanned the room and took a few belongings. We then went over to Wolfix's room. We opened the door to find her just finishing packing her belongings and she looked up to see us in the door frame. She nodded with an impassive expression and we left to say goodbye to slender. We reach the foyer and he is standing there looking over us. All around him are his proxies. He walked up to us and removed the proxy marks on our wrists. Quick goodbyes were passed around. We weren't leaving forever. We set out the front door and we waved goodbye one last time before we teleported collectively. We landed in a large clearing in another country. Japan. Time to start our own base. Time to be operators.
