Out of all the things you could be doing Friday night here you are dragging a knife along the neck of your bodyguard Jung Jaehyun, who is kneeling in front of you, hands bound and shirt in shreds. What a life.

You closed the door to your bedroom after a long day, slowly removing the headband that gave you human ears and hid your hybrid ones, and yanking off your office trousers and the thick band that held your tail in place.

It was hard living as a human in a post-hybrid world where all the remaining hybrids were hunted down and executed. Of course there were still many hybrids secretly living undercover, as well as some questionable institutions where hybrids were allowed to take shelter (with consequences), but you were the CEO of a leading broadcasting agency and you were always on edge, in case someone, anyone found out.

As you changed into some comfortable pyjamas you stretched your long black tail behind you, craning your neck as you black ears finally relaxed. As you stretched your nails started expanding and contracting, finally you were free to be your hybrid self.

You jumped around the room for a while, before sitting down to eat the food you'd bought on the way here from a local store. Because you were a hybrid you weren't very tolerant to chemicals in your food so you had to buy a lot of natural food.

As you were eating you started playing your favorite documentary on Netflix, your tail curling in happiness at the screen.

"Dark fur of the Black Panther provides great nighttime camouflage, but may impair visual ..."

You lifted your head from the pile of documents you were reading at the sound of the bell to your office. Today you were going to meet your new bodyguard, whose documents that you were currently checking.

His resume was unnecessarily perfect, a little doubtful but at this point you were willing to have anyone.

Your last bodyguard had resigned after "seeing a terrifying hallucination of a black, clawed creature pouncing on him" while he was drunk, and assuming he had some sort of mental problem.

(Honestly it was just you when your drunk bodyguard tried to grope you in the hallway while you were having an irritating day but no one needed to know that, he can believe it was a hallucination.)

As you lifted your head your secretary came in, followed by a tall, absolutely stunning specimen of a man. If you were affected by his beauty, however you didn't show it because honestly you were a blank panther living among humans. Nothing could surprise you at this point.

"Ma'am, this is your new bodyguard, Mr. Jeong. Mr. Jeong, this is Mr. Y/L/N, the CEO of Leopolitan Broadcasting Association. Per the contract you will be her bodyguard for the following two years or per further notice."

The man had cold eyes. He held his hand forward. You thought you felt something different, but you ignored it. "Jeong Jaehyun, honoured" he said, his deep baritone voice rolling off his tongue. " I am equally honored," you said, "my secretary will brief you on your duties."

Jaehyun bowed politely and followed your secretary out of your office. As he passed you, you again felt that something was off, but you shook your head. "I'm being paranoid... "
