"And then she woke up," Jaehyun mumbled to a confused Kun, "and she looked at me and her entire face, it, it went dark, like darkness just washed over her eyes."
Kun couldn't help the look of pity that overcame his features, his tail drooping to the floor.
"And then?" He asked in a meek voice.
"And then she asked me what the hell I was still doing here."
Kun watched as Jaehyun mumbled quietly, staring at a spot on the floor. It was like the majestic leopard had been replaced by an abandoned kitten.
"Usually one night stands leave before I wake up and I would've appreciated it if you did the same."
"She really said that?"
"Yeah," Jaehyun whispered, his voice faltering. He would never forget that way your cold eyes had stared at his, the way you had looked away, the way you had seemed almost disgusted.
The worst part was that you hadn't seemed disgusted at him. You'd been disgusted at yourself.
You'd continued to look away until he left.
The ride home had been tense and quiet, you hadn't even looked at him much less uttered a word. Some sort of indication of a reason for your behavior.
No, nothing.
He'd fallen asleep last night feeling almost whole, yet the contrast was shattering. This morning had left him feeling emptier than he had ever felt before.
Kun patted Jaehyun's shoulder in sympathy, he knew better than to offer pointless advice on how to deal with the situation. His friend just needed a friend.
"Woah fancy meeting my favorite employees out of the workplace like this??"
Jaehyun raised his head at the sound of that voice, noting how the ever lovable Kun rolled his eyes before turning around to face the approaching male.
He was clad in a black silk shirt and black tie, under a pearl white suit tailored to fit him to perfection. His teeth were a similar pearl as he flashed a mischievous grin, it's glint matching the glittering platinum rings adorning his knuckles.
Chittaphon was young, rich, the perfect bachelor material and he never missed a chance to flaunt it. He had made crazy profits conducting an illegal assemble of entertainment as the CEO of Kryptonite, giving hybrids job opportunities and giving higher-up hybrids places to socialize without fear.
He of course had a few side businesses as cover up, but his nightclubs were his pride and joy. Despite all this involvement with the hybrid side of town however, Chittaphon himself wasn't one.
This was one of the reasons why he was so successful, the law had nothing on him. If someone complained he could just say he ran a normal club, that he had no idea there were so many hybrids working under him.
No one could deny his knack for business, but of course it was his genuineness that had been the foundation to his small empire.
As he approached a sullen looking Jaehyun and a flustered Kun he couldn't help but bring the elite glow with him, his pearlescent smile and his luxurious aura temporarily blinding those around him.
Jaehyun was momentarily pulled out of his reverie by the sudden personality change Kun had seemed to have undergone. A dusting of blush was apparent on his cheeks and his tail was wagging uncontrollably, as much as he tried to stop it, his tail didn't seem to heed it's owner.
"So," Ten, as his friends called him, said, still grinning, his gaze trailing to the furious wagging of Kun's Labrador tail, "Why the long faces ?"
He pulled out one of the sleek dark bar stools and sat between them, awfully close to said Labrador.
Kun immediately went from excited pup to sad pup.
"Jae's been having girl problems," he mumbled, at which Ten turned to the leopard hybrid.
"I thought you gave girls their problems?"
He had merely joked, but seeing the look on Jaehyun's face, he seemed to realize the severity of the situation.
"Oh wait this is serious? Jaehyun, what's going on? Did you accidentally fall in love with a hybridophobic human or something? Worse, did you fall in love with like a cop?" Kun hit him on his arm, giving him a face.
"Don't hit your boss," he jeered back before turning to Jaehyun.
Jaehyun just stared at space.
"It was my fault I guess. I should've kept myself in check. You think she'll fire me?"
"Nah, I don't think she'll fire you Jaehyun. If she hired you with your mediocre forged docs she was probably as desperate for help as you were for a decent job. But will she avoid you forever and pretend nothing happened? That of course is completely possible."
"You have no tact babe," Ten said, looking at Kun, who almost choked on air at the nickname,
"Don't you see he's already upset as it is?"
"He's right though," Jaehyun said.
"I probably ruined what we had before we even had it."
So yeah another new character. I love Ten okay. I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter. Please remember to vote if you did. And I love reading the comments too hehe. <3
