Chapter 28 Presents

That moment when you're air hungry and also still haven't updated because school and life and stuff.

Also I got a comment asking if Jo was a self insert and the answer is no actually. I wanted her to be kind of that relatable older sister person (so the person I can never be ha) and with the energy of my old school and friends. There's always something happening with her. She has a similar name as me just because A. I'm uncreative and B. I'm an egotistical maniac that need just a shred of myself in my everything to thrive or I will go insane because of my unstable self image.

(Don't feel sorry for me I'm actually fine and thats like 75% joke and I'm seeing a therapist)

Everyone gathered in a circle as Patton pulled out the presents. Janus got up and walked into another room.

He walked back in and brought back the puppy. Remus gasped. "OH MY GOSH is that MINE he's sooooo CUTE what's his name?!"

"Octopus." Virgil said as Remus squealed and tried not to squeeze it too hard. The dog licked his face happily. Janus smiled genuinely a little then turned to Roman who was waiting impatiently.

Roman tore open the box and pulled out a huge lion stuffy from Patton. "Patton. This is magnificent!"

Patton shook it head. "Roman, I'd be lion if I said I got you that. Janus and Virgil did all the shopping."

"But you paid me back plus extra and picked it out! Plus you did all the wrapping Pat." Virgil snagged a potato chip.

"You both are too nice." Remus grabbed the next box and ripped it open to see and octopus painting. The actual animal was a sort of purple and grey with giant light green eyes. It looked generally weird and oddly disorienting but was cute at the same time. The background was an emerald  green. "VIRGY DID YOU PAINT THIS?!"

"Uhm yeah? It's not that crazy ha." Virgil rubbed the back of his neck.

"Shut up it's almost as beautiful as me, which is saying a lot." Roman said as he took a present from Logan. He saw the theater book and gasped dramatically. "THIS IS BEAUTIFUL IM KEEPING IT FOREVER IT SHALL BE WONDROUS."

Logan cracked a small smile. "I'm glad you like it."

Remus opened his present from Emile and saw the Spinel poster and squealed. "HOW'D YOU KNOOOOOOOOOW?!"

Emile shrugged. "Maaaaaagic." Remus smiled gratefully and Remy snorted.

They continued opening presents untill Roman came to the one he got from Virgil. The last one. He looked suspiciously at the guitar shaped gift before ripping the wrapping paper.

The guitar was beautiful. It had a painting of the gravity falls cast on the front with the Heathers on one side and JD, Veronica, and Martha on the other. On the back was a painting of all of them with Logan and Patton cuddling on the side, Emile and Remy with their arms around eachother on the top, Remus hanging on Janus to one side, and Virgil and Roman holding hands in the middle.

Roman gasped and touched the instrument gingerly before carefully laying it down and jumping into Virgil for a hug.

"Can't....breathe." the emo muttered underneath him as Roman let go for a second then squeezed him again.

"It's- I LOVE IT SO MUCH VIRGIL." Roman smiled as Virgil finally returned the hug.

"Told you he could." Patton grinned as Logan scoffed and handed him five bucks.

Remus and Janus were playing with their new puppy and didn't even notice Roman's new instrument.

Vigil coughed awkwardly. "Well uhm... You see Princy that wasn't all of it... I uh also wanted to ask you if you would maybe acompany me to dinner at the new fancy restaurant down the block Saturday night?"

Patton held out his hand again as Logan sighed and handed him another five bucks.

Roman nodded furiously before freaking out. "THATS IN TWO DAYS I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR."

Emile slid in. "Actually since it's your birthday we decided we would take you two shopping tomorrow for your outfits. Patton, Remus, and I have Roman and Remy, Logan, and Janus are going to help Virgil."

"You guys really don't have to do that. I could probably find something in my wardrobe." Virgil shrugged.

"Honey there is no way in hell your going on your first date dressed like a depressed highschool student that had an emo ghost vomit on their closet." Remy sipped his coffee.

"Finnneeee." Virgil groaned.

"How fancy is the restaurant?" Roman asked.

Virgil sighed. "Fancy as in my salary for the next few weeks are going to be me repaying."

"Oh we don't have to!" Roman said worriedly.

"Naw we got plenty of money. Besides it's for your birthday. And also Patton payed for a quarter of it because he's Patton and refused to let me pay for my own god damned food."

"Language." Patton scolded. "And it was nothing. I've been saving up money for Virgil's dates for years. Its a bit of a hobby of mine." Patton shrugged sheepishly. Virgil gave him a concerned, amused, and slightly confused look.

The rest of the night was pretty relaxed. Roman and Remus got into an argument over who had the better hair (everyone agreed Roman including Janus) the watched a few movies. They were in the middle of watch Needful things when Patton fell asleep.

Logan sighed. "I'll take him to our room. We'll be up tomorrow at around 10 so you two better be up. Don't do anything stupid tonight got it?" Logan narrowed him eyes at Janus and Remus then shifted his gaze to Roman and Virgil.

"WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK WE'RE GOING TO DO SOMETHING STUPID?!" Virgil yelled exasperated.

"Because without other adult supervision you do." Logan picked up Patton bridal style, barely faltering since Patton was so small.

Roman rolled his eyes playfully and Virgil face planted. The nerd walked to the door. "I guess since it's already this late you guys can spend the night in the living room. If I hear ANYTHING bad I swear to God you're all in figurative hot water. Goodnight." And he walked out.

Virgil grabbed a blanket from the cabinet as Roman whispered to Virgil. "Think he just doesn't want us to wake up Patton?'

"He must protect the bean." Virgil whispered back.

"Mmhmmm." Roman nodded sleepily as Virgil curled under Roman's arm.

Everyone got their blankets and finally all went to sleep excited for the next day.
