Thomas opened the door to the kitchen and barely escaped a face of flour. Patton and Ashley laughed as they continued to pour ingredients. "Heya, kiddo!" Patton said while pulling out the vanilla extract. "We've been baking up a storm in here!" Thomas looked around. "A flour storm?" Thomas said, his voice heavy with sarcasm. "Yep!" Ashley said while pulling out a cupcake tin.
Patton, meanwhile, was mixing a batch of royal icing, releasing a happy sigh. He had been kinda out of it ever since the Lilypadton incident, telling less puns and having zero motivation for baking. Fanderville gave him a feeling of control, temporarily silencing the voices in his head and making the loudest one his (Expect a BMC reference every chapter tbh) Patton put the cupcakes in the oven and started icing a tray of cookies.
The two easily worked with priorities in sync (Loser, Geek, Whatever is a good song ok-) making an assortment of treats while Thomas stood in the middle of the organized chaos (Fander Twitter be like) "Thomas, could you go put these on the counter?" Patton handed him tray with 7 cookies, decorated to look like the Sides' symbols, the 7th black with an orange question mark on it. Thomas placed the tray on the counter before noticing the Sides sitting at a booth. Patton and Ashley came out of the kitchen before Thomas noticed Aleks talking with Kay about the peace treaty.
