[Stellar Prep Classroom, School Hours, Two Years Ago]
*Inside a bland high school classroom, Ella sits at her desk while mindlessly staring out the window.*
Ella: *In her head in a monotone voice.* I don't wanna go home today.
Teacher: *While writing on the board* -In famous sayings. A popular one, for example, let's see...
*The teacher scans the room as Michi, who is seated behind Ella, hides herself. The teacher notices Ella's absent-minded behavior.*
Teacher: Ella, please read and translate this.
*Ella stands up as if she was paying attention the whole time and looks at the whiteboard. In bold blue dry erase marker "Qui vivra, verra" is written.*
Ella: Qui vivra, verra. She who lives, shall see.
Teacher: *Thinking to himself* I guess she was listening. *Out loud* Very good as always, Ella.
*Ella sits back down and continues looking out the window.*
Student One: Jeez, she wasn't even paying attention.
Student Two: Pretty and smart, wow.
Student Three: So out of my league.
Michi: *Tapping Ella's shoulder from behind.* Way to go Ella, I thought you might've needed my help! *Giving her a thumbs up.*
Ella: *Turning her head* Thanks! You can go back to hiding now.
Michi: Wuh?
[Stellar Prep Office, Afterschool, Two Years Ago]
*Ella and the same French teacher walk into a faculty office room as orange sunlight shines through the windows.*
Teacher: Thanks Ella, you can place those there.
Counselor: *Sitting on his table.* Thanks again Ella, I don't know how you have the time to help us! Don't you have work to do?
Ella: *Placing a box in the corner of the room.* It's no problem, I'm just glad to be of service. After last week's basketball tournament, I think I owe the school something.
Teacher: Oh please, you're the only reason our school made it that far. That double tech was definitely unwarranted. You should probably still watch your language. It's very unbecoming for a lady such as yourself.
*The three of them remember a women's varsity basketball game from before.*
Ella: *Yelling at a scared referee.* How the *Inaudible* is that a foul! I barely touched the *Inaudible* *Inaudible* *Inaudible* *Inaudible* *Inaudible* with my fist!
*The three of them try not to remember the specifics of what was said. After that brief memory the three of them look at each other, the two teachers laugh as Ella hangs her head in shame.*
Ella: Yes, of course.
Counselor: You know Ella, I was looking over your transcript today, and it's very impressive, 5.0 GPA, AP European History, AP Chemistry, AP Literature, The list goes on. Not to mention, doing all this with your modeling job.
Teacher: She's an impressive one isn't she? I've taught her since French One class freshman year, everytime I thought I caught her slacking, she always answered right!
Counselor: Tell us Ella, have you ever thought about which school you want to attend for college?
Ella: *Surprised by the question, she places her hand on her chin before looking up.* Oh, hmm.. Well, I've only ever thought about what I could do to help my father out.
