I woke up that morning to hear girls walking around me, the sound of blow driers and chatting filled my ears as I sat up from my pillow.

I looked in my suitcase and grabbed out a pair of shorts and my All Time Low tee shirt. I walked into the bathroom to shower and walked out about 20 minutes later, grabbing the brush of the table by my bed and brushing through my knotty long hair.

“So Kat, what were you and Ashton talking about at the bon fire last night?” Claire asked, I could sense a bit of jealousy in her question.

“A lot.” I sighed, figuring she would want to know what ‘a lot’ was referring to. “He asked me why I wasn’t eating, I told him about Carrie. I told him everything Claire. He was so nice about it and I think he is the only true friend I have here except you and Riles, he was just there for me when I needed to get stuff off my chest, and I guess I just needed another person I could trust here, seeing how I don’t have very many friends.”

“Ash is a sweetheart, isn’t he? He’s just so kind, and caring. I really like him Kat.” She sighed, looking at me as we waited for Riley to finish getting ready.

“I can talk to him if you want, to see how he feels, he owes me a confession ya know.” I smirked at her, my comment making her smile from ear to ear.

“Yeah, that’d be nice. Thanks Kat, you’re great.”

Later that day after lunch I was heading to my activity of the day, and I decided on art, I was really in the mood to paint, even though I was god awful at it.

As I walked into the room I immediately noticed the one person in camp that I was trying to hide from, Calum. I sighed and walked to an open seat, which was luckily a couple away from Calum.

After the councilor was done talking about all of the things that we could do, I jumped up from my seat and walked over to one of the painting easels, but before I could someone pushed me to the side, grabbing the seat instead.

“Sorry babe, this seats taken. Maybe you can work here when I’m done.” Calum gave me a fake smile as he grabbed the paint brush in the tray and began looking at the colors on the table.

“Whatever asshole.” I scoffed.

“Excuse me Kat?” Calum asked, making me turn around.

“Sorry Calum, only my friends are allowed to called me Kat.” I stared at him for a minute with a deathly look before walking away and grabbing one of the sketch books off the table.

Art ended a little while after Calum and I’s little... disagreement, and I got up from my seat to go and join Claire and Riley at the dock, where we usually meet up during free time.

“Hey guys,” I say, sitting down in the middle of them on the dock, sticking my feet in the water.

“Hey Kat, I heard you and Calum were in Art together, how was that?” Riley asked me, giving my shoulder a little nudge.

“It was horrible. He’s so annoying, it’s like he enjoy picking on me. I don’t even know what I did to him to deserve him being this mean.” I said.

“Well, haven’t you ever heard the saying ‘guys are only mean to the girls they like’? Because to me, it seems like Calum has a little crush on me. And don’t even try to deny that you don’t have one on him, because Riley and I both know that you do,” Claire said, Riley quietly agreeing with her.

“Well even if I do have the tiiiiiniest crush on him, I can promise you that he doesn’t like me back. He is so rude to me, and I didn’t even do anything to make him mad.”

“That’s an easy fix Kat! Its just like Grease, when Sandy really wants Danny to realize that he likes her, she acts all sexy and flirty, that’s what you have to do!” Riley screeched

“You know that’s not why she dresses like that, right Riley?” I laugh, remembering the actual reason that Sandy changed her outfit, “not to seem sexy, but to change her appearance in order to attract Danny, and that’s not what I want to do. I’m not changing myself just to gain the likes of some summer camp crush.” I state.

“Oh whatever, come on Kat. We have the perfect way to get back at Calum for all of the mean things he’s said.” Riley said, standing from the dock, and Claire standing after her.

As we walked down the dock and back up to our cabin, I was completely clueless to what the girls had in mind, and didn’t really want to know.

After about an hour of the girls experimenting in the cabin, they both sighed, looking to each other and high fiving. “Ah, done. Finally. Take a look Kat!” Claire said ecstatically.

“Oh. My. Gosh.”
