Synopsis: Natasha asks her sister, (Y/N), to go on a mission with the team.

"Natalia."

"(Y/N), please---"

"Natalia," you said again, "I left the Red Room so I would never have to get back into espionage and missions. No way."

Natalia took a sip of her iced coffee. Really, the whole thing was quite stupid. She had contacted you for the first time in 10 years to meet her at a local coffee shop. There was no context as to why. Still, you met your sister at the time she requested, and now she wanted to send you on a mission for the Avengers.

You two had trained in the Red Room together and managed to escape. You both went your own ways; Natalia using her skills to be a hero, and you trying to stay out of the whole fighting business instead. But no matter how hard you tried to leave the paste behind you, your past still haunted you. It didn't help that your sister wanted you to complete a mission.

"Why?" Natalia asked.

The question caught you off guard, but like always, you always had an answer ready.

"Because for the first time in forever, I'm happy. Do you know how hard it was for me to accomplish that? I went to college, I have a job, and I'm living as my own person. That's all I wanted, Natalia. I respect what you do now, I really do, but I do not want to throw myself back into the whole thing after I finally am a normal human for once."

"(Y/N)," Natalia smiled softly, "we both know that no matter how much we try, we are far from normal. We're trained killers, whether we like it or not. I've embraced my skills."

You raised your eyebrows. "Are you saying that what I'm doing as a journalist isn't important?"

Natalia shrugged. "I'm just saying that you could be doing more."

You slammed your hands on the table in anger.

"You know what Romanova? You call for the first time in 10 years, don't even talk to me about how I've been doing, and insult me? You've got to be out of your mind to think I'd help you. See you later sister," you told her, grabbing your stuff off of the table.

A firm hand grabbed your arm to keep you from running off.

"(Y/N), I'm sorry. I got ahead of myself. I just wanted you on this mission. (Y/N), you were better than me in the Black Widow training program, yet you still helped me train. The group I work with, they're like a family to me. You've been around too long to not have a family, and I wanted you to work with us just this once. We're nothing like the Red Room, and we'd be lucky to have you."

"Any one I'd know?" you asked. You hated how you were slowly becoming more interested in the project. You despised how your killer instincts were kicking back in.

This wasn't what you wanted.

Natalia nodded. "Clint and James, though James prefers to be called Bucky."

Your blood ran cold. "James? The one who..."

You couldn't finish your sentence outloud. The one who trained you and forced you to kill against your will.

"He's still alive. Apparently he was friends with Captain America before he became the Winter Soldier. I promise you, though, he's on our side.

"I don't know, Natalia," you sighed.

"Please, just this one time? We need you, more than the rest of the team realizes it. They think they can just dive in there and defeat these guys. They'll get themselves killed!"
