Keira's POV

"I miss you too," I chuckled and pointed out, "Mum, we have just met an hour before, right?" I laughed even louder when she was silent through the phone and she seemed speechless.

"I'll always miss you all the time, silly. You're my sweetheart." I could picture mum saying with rolling her eyes.

"I'll always love you, but I have to go," I said as she sighed, "You don't have to work, do you? Mr. Kendrick had told you that you should take at least one day off weekly. And now, here technically more like your home instead."

"Mum, you're so dramatic. I'm just looking around for today," I interjected her with laughter after I heard she keep rambling.

"Right, back to a meeting on Sunday. Seriously, my dear? Do you think your co-worker will happy with that after you called them back here on their day off?" mom asked in concern I knew she worried I would create drama in my workplace but I had no choice.

I was the head of all the managers and I had to do my best to monitor the management for my job's sake. I wasn't complaining about my job, I could be sanity and couldn't stop when jobs come to me because I always wanted to make it right and do my best since Mr. Kendrick had put so much hope on me and I was much appreciated it.

"I have to do this because it is important," I explained softly and added, "I'll go back when Christmas is coming, I promised."

"I hope so," I could hear mom say sadly.

I felt bad that I had to cancel the trip with them after I get a call from my colleague. I knew it was unnecessary but at that time I was newly get promoted, and I gave up the trip for fix it. If not I would be unsettled to leave my undone job behind while I was having the trip.

That was me whenever anything related to my job.

"I'm sorry about the trip we cancelled, mum. That was a silly decision. It won't gonna happen again," I reassured her as she sighed softly.

"We never upset you give up our trip for your job. I knew you well, sweetheart. It's good to know you're happy with your job, but don't wear out yourself," mum said.

"Thanks, mom. I'll take care of myself. I love you," I smiled.

"That's good to know. I love you too, baby girl," mom said with a chuckle.

I check the time on my watch as I started taking my tab and said, "Mom, I gotta go for real this time."

"Okay. Bye, sweetheart." With that, we ended our call and I slipped my phone into my jeans pocket before heading to the meeting room.

So, I had a codename in this place The Devil Wears Prada. I did overhear them mock when would the Devil meet her Prada so I wouldn't be stern and tense to everyone in this company.

I wouldn't mind what they had said about me, the matter was they had to do what I say to make things right, and got it done. I would much highly appreciate it if neither of them sends any trouble to this company.

Unfortunately, things would never be perfect as I expected. Also, nothing would surprise me since they had made silly mistakes trillion times. I should have shared the award of best mistake with the winner annually to keep them in mind.

I didn't mean to push their button for setting an immediate meeting after they had made a minor mistake, and they should know better than anyone that they shouldn't have done this. That was just a little punishment for their sake.

Every step I was taking to the meeting room, I tried to pick up myself, keep my face neutral, and their so-called poker face before entering the room. In the meantime, I rolled my eyes when I heard the murmur muffled from the room. I took a deep breath as I pinched the bridge of my nose, I pushed the door and stepped into the room.
