Ophelia's POV
Keira seemed off after she return from my dad's office. She was quiet and did everything absently. She even stared at the clean ceiling but nothing entertaining. I didn't think she even had a chance to see if a roach or lizard was crawling around.
Did my dad stress her out? I hope not.
I looked at the time on my phone since the room was getting dark. It was passed 6 pm and the gorgeous was busy staring at the ceiling again.
She had invited me to join her and her best friend for a drink tonight. Did you think I was never thrilled about that? Of course, I mentally screamed in excitement. Yes, you could say I am dramatic. Who wouldn't? Bet! What if your crush asked you for a hangout?
I should stop the poor pretty woman staring for nothing. I switched on the light and called out, "It's 6 pm already. Are we leaving now, ma'am?"
It was a tease to call her like that since she always felt disturbed with the 'ma'am' word. Somehow, only silent in return as I look at Keira again. I didn't need to crouch or discreetly walked to her side to play a peekaboo since she was still in her sweet wonderland.
I eventually reached her desk and lower my upper body to her level and whispered, "Boo."
Keira's eyes snapped wide as a soft gasp escaped from her lips. She swiftly drew back with a hand rested on her chest and still in shock. She was calm than other people react, and my mom will hit my head or my arm if I scare her like that.
"Well, I have to admit that I look scary," I teased and chuckled at her, "We'll have a drink for tonight, right?"
"You're not scary, but you like to scare me when I'm carried away," Keira retorted as she shook her head at me.
"So, you're carried away when you were counting roaches or lizards on the ceiling?" I teased with a smirk as her natural cheek shade darkened.
I didn't mean to embarrass her but I enjoy making fun of her. I decided to stop it and I said softly, "My bad. I'm kidding. Are you okay?" I didn't want to press her, but I was concerned. I gave a small smile to her before I asked, "You seemed off today. Did anything happen to you?"
Keira was quiet but her eyes were gazing at me. I was getting worried when she was taking a few deep breaths, and I just realize our distances were pretty close. I felt bad to make her uncomfortable as I quickly drew my face away from her and looked down at her.
Keira eventually smiled and said softly, "I'm fine, and nothing had happened. I'd spend more time thinking when it comes to Friday because I need to plan for the upcoming agenda before I back to work on Monday."
I rolled my eyes at her, "Why didn't you tell me? I'm your PA and that's my job to help."
"I didn't even have a real plan, and everything is still in my head. How can I ask for help?" Keira said with a chuckle.
"I get it. That makes sense," I agreed with a smile and jested, "I was worried about you since I thought you were stressed to find out the problem from the ceiling before reporting to my dad."
"Stop it," Keira laughed heartily as her melodic and contagious voice lead me to join the fun.
Keira heaved lightly after her long laugh as she said breathlessly, "Let's get going. We will have tacos for dinner before beer since it's just next door."
"That's perfect! I'm ready, ma'am," I beamed as Keira cringed with wrinkled her nose and playfully glared at me, "Stop it, Ophelia." I laughed as we happily left the room.
