THIRD PERSON POV
A FEW DAYS LATER

A blink.

A small movement in the hand.

A small wince.

Legacy Carter opened her eyes to a bright white room making her immediately close them again. She moved her hand over her eyes as she tried to adjust them to the light.

"Shìt I-I hate h-hospitals" Legacy mumbled before coughing as her throat felt dry.

"Legacy" Someone said making Legacy open her eyes again. She saw her mother standing by the door with tears rolling down her eyes.

"M-Mom" she said and Ms.Carter rushes over to her side as she cried.

"I thought you were gone from me baby. I'm so happy that you're okay" She said kissing Legacy's cheeks as she held her face in her hands.

"Where's Miya? is she okay?" Legacy asked looking around the room. Legacy looked down to see her right arm and leg were in bandaged up in casts.

"She's fine baby. We can talk about her later. I'm going to go get your doctor" Her mother said and Legacy sighed with a nod before pointing to the glass of water that was on the opposite side of the room. Ms.Carter grabbed the water and gave it to Legacy before hurrying to go find her doctor.

"She's awake!" Ms.Carter said as she walked passed the waiting room looking for her doctor or a nurse. Jas' eyes widen as she stood up after hearing Legacy's mother.

"Aye yo Lorenzo Legacy is awake" Jas said tapping Lorenzo's arm. Lorenzo was knocked out sleep drooling in that uncomfortable waiting room chair.

When Lorenzo didn't respond Jas shrugged and raised her hand, smacking Lorenzo hard. The slap rang throughout the waiting room as Lorenzo jumped awaked with a hard look on his face.

"Ow god damn what do you want" Lorenzo said rubbing his sore cheek.

"It did not hurt" Jas said waving him off making Lorenzo raise his eyebrow.

Lorenzo stood up before smacking Jas hard on the cheek.

"Man what the fuck" Jas said rubbing her now sore cheek.

"You put all your strength in your hand to bitch slap the fuck out of me, I did the same" Lorenzo said shrugging. Jas stared at him for a long time before chuckling as she shook her head.

"You know you can't hit no girl right?" Jas said mockingly as she smiled.

"Good thing you ain't no girl" Lorenzo said making Jas hit him in the arm as she laughed.

"I hate you dude" She said with a smile before remembering what she needed to tell him.

"Legacy is awake" was she said before Lorenzo's eyes widen. He quickly pushed past Jas and ran straight to Legacy's room. He tripped and almost fell on the way.

"Legacy" Lorenzo said as he busted into her room. Legacy jumped in surprise before looking up to see him.

"Lorenzo" Legacy said as she teared up. Lorenzo rushed to her before grabbing her face in his hands kissing her lips hard. Legacy moaned softly before passionately kissing him back.

"Woah lovebirds there's kids around with y'all nasty ass" Jas said as she walked in the room with Quiava in her arms. Legacy laughed and shook her head.

"I'm sorry for leaving you that night I should have been there" Lorenzo said quickly as he looked at Legacy. She smiled and shook her head pecking his lips softly.

"I love you Lorenzo and this is not your fault" She mumbled against his lips. He nodded slowly and sighed as he pulled away from her.

"Let me hold my babygirl" She said turning to Jas. Jas raises her eyebrow before scoffing jokingly.

"Um no Hey Jas how you doing" she says in a joking manner making Legacy laugh.

"Hey Jas now give me my baby" Legacy said making Jas chuckle but slowly give her Quiava. Legacy smiled as Ava looks at her with a big cheeky smile on her face.

"Hey mamas I missed you" Legacy said as she kissed her baby girl's cheeks. Legacy had to hold Quiava with her left arm and side.

"Good morning Ms.Carter I see that you are awake and well" Legacy's doctor said as he walks in the hospital room.

"Hi doctor can I know why my right side is bandage up like this." Legacy asked frowning her eyebrows.

"Well Legacy you were hit on your right side pretty badly. You were also hit in the front but lucky that didn't do any true damage to your body." The doctor and a nurse came in to do her checks up on Legacy.

"Is Miya okay?" Legacy couldn't help but ask.

"Your friend is okay for the most part. She woke up actually yesterday she is sleeping right." The doctor said as the nurse handled him a clipboard.

"For the most part what are you talking about" Legacy asked looking at everyone confused.

"I will allow your friends and family to discuss that with you Ms.Carter but for right now we need to talk about your recovery and what's going to have to happen moving forward." He said and Legacy looked at him nodding.

"Now because you were hit so hard you ended up with a broken rib, a broken leg and arm. Pretty much your right side broken. Now your rib will heal fine in about a month or so. You will have to wear crutches for your arm and leg for about two months." The doctor said and Legacy sighed before looking down at Ava who was playing with her hair.

"Okay anything else?" Legacy asked hoping there was nothing else.

"Yes in regards to your mi-"

"Doctor no. I haven't told her yet" Lorenzo butted in stopping the Doctor was saying whatever he was going to say.

"Told me what?" Legacy asked and everyone in the room looked at each other.

"We are going to give you guys some space to talk" Ms.Carter said before pushing everyone to get out. Jas  reached for Quiava but Legacy shook her head making Jas nod and walk out the room.

"Baby listen to me what I'm going to say isn't going to be good to hear but I want you to know that I love you and this isn't your fault" Lorenzo said quickly as he sat down in a chair next to Legacy's bed.

"Lorenzo please just tell me" Legacy mumbled looking at him. Ava was falling asleep in Legacy's arm with a small pout on her face.

"Due to all the damage you suffered in the car accident, you suffered a miscarriage" Lorenzo said slowly as he held her left hand in his hands.

"What" Legacy said quickly as her eyes widened.

"You had a miscarriage baby" he repeated and Legacy shook her head quickly not believing it as tears clouded her eyes.

"No I wasn't pregnant" Legacy said in denial but Lorenzo sighed and made her look at him. Legacy looked at him and tears ran down her cheeks as she cried.

"Oh my god" Legacy said before sobbing loudly. Lorenzo picked up Ava and held her in his arms. Legacy shook her head as she cried. Lorenzo sat on the bed and kissed Legacy's forehead.

"I'm so sorry baby" he said sadly as he watched the love of his life break apart.

"My baby" was all Legacy said.
