Chapter 2: The Reunion

You sure, this is a good idea? We can make an excuse if you want.

Trust me Ed. I have you, so you don't have to worry. And we promised Lance, remember? It's just that, I don't want to disappoint him this time.

Okay.

I need to come first to my office for the signing of some documents, and excused myself for the rest of the day. It is almost 10 in the morning when Ed arrived at Lovelle, and the event will start at 11, giving us ample time for the heavy traffic of California.

Why don't you get a car Celine? I can't be your driver forever.

I'd rather walk, Ed. Can't bear this traffic.

Here we go again. But seriously, are you ready?

Of course, more than ready. They are still my friends.

But they were also his friends.

I have Lance, so relax. A lawyer never weeps, remember? Hard as stone.

Hahaha! How long have you last seen him?

Hmmm... Maybe almost six years I guessed. I don't know if I still remember him.

We arrive in Glendale right on time. My mind is set for this reunion, for Lance, and to my old good friends.

The launching is very successful. There's even a media as part of Lance business strategy. And the presence of Edward, Matt and Aeon adds up to the fire in the oven.

Matt became a successful model of fashion clothing brands in the US, like Tommy H., Calvin Klien, Under Armor, and Polos. He created already a name for himself, like what he always bragged his abs to every one of us. He's now the good-looking Matthew Brent who stands around 6'1 in height, fit and well groomed, wearing fashionable clothes, neat haircut, well maintained perfect skin, but still the bubbly-chatty Matt we knew.

Aeon is now the famous Aeon Collins, a well-known, successful businessman in the US, or perhaps the world. He's still the familiar Aeon, with his manly appearance, lean muscular built, piercing eyes, brown messy sexy semi neat hair, pointed nose and perfect thin lips. He also grew up at around 6'2 in height.

Present here, is Chris, the ever serious, and sensible Christopher Andrew Brown, and is now a successful Manager of Standard Chartered Bank. A geeky looking guy with his glasses, with his prim and proper posture, wearing a suit as if he's going to a meeting, he also grew up around Matt's height.

And to complete the Big 4, Bern also came. He's now a successful IT Manager of Google, the one to look like a smart-casual guy among them. In his long sleeves and jeans, a beard that suits his face, and a bald face haircut style to complete the look, his height is around the height of Chris.

Celine Baby, it's so nice to see you, I immediately earn a big hug from Matt.

Hi Guys. Lovely to meet you once again.

Pretty as ever Celine. Chris said, as he embraces me.

Compared to all of you! But hey, I miss you.

We miss you too Celine. I hope Maika is here, unfortunately something came up.

Oh, say my regards to her.

I gave a court nod and smile to Aeon, coz for sure, he's likely to ignore me than to impose himself in an uninteresting conversation, the old Aeon who's still as cold as ice.

By the way guys, for sure you already know this guy, this is Edward. Edward, these are my friends in Aberdeen. Matt, Chris, Bern and Aeon.

Hi Dude, we've finally meet. Congrats on your last match. I love watching your games!

I'm not sure if Matt is bluffing, or is he really the type of guy to be fan of football.

As much as I wanted Celine for myself, she's already with Edward, sorry Matt. A perfect timing to butt in, Lance is really a great friend.

Really? oh I knew it! Bern exclaimed.

Sorry Matt, but we are together now, right Honey? Then, Edward held my hand, wanting to own the earlier statement of Lance.

Right. Anyways, enough of me. How are you guys?

Well, we've been busy preparing for our engagement party next month. Yes,' I already proposed to Maika, and I want you to be there.

Congratulations Bern! Matt greeted.

You better have your dates ready or else I'll make one for each of you.

I'm always busy with commercial engagements but for you man, I'll make time. Matt said.

Count me in Bern, no need to look for someone, I think I already have one. It was Chris.

Me too. Just tell me when. Aeon swift response.

Celine, Edward, you'll come right? Bern asked.

Yes. Half-heartedly I answered him.

I'll go. Lance assures him. Then he winks at me, sensing the hesitation in my eyes.

Perfect. Bern happily announced.

We just stayed there until almost everyone left, the meet up went pretty well. Matt became the entertainer once again, with his wonderful and funny stories, with addition to Bern's crazy ideas. Chris still the serious older brother who meddles to every banter, and Aeon's with his not to care in the world attitude. As much as Lance wanted to permanently stayed with us, he also has other guests to attend to, which we understand. It's like the good old days, when we were still like the free spirited, dreamy, careless high school students. The only difference, is that we are all adults now, with our own lives, our own responsibilities and our own happiness to mind.
