Chapter 12: What is Sunrise?

Its already five in the morning, I was awakened by my alarm to witness the sunrise. It's really cold in here, without Aeon's body heat and arms who's around me again, I don't know if I can bear this cold.

He's not going to move again, his arms become tighter the moment I tried to sit.

Love, it's still early, and it so cold.

I have to see the sunrise. You can continue with your sleep.

Nope, I want to sleep with you. He's looking like a kid, begging his mom not to go. He's so cute.

Ae, please...

Not before you kiss me.

He's really making fun of this kisses.

You've had enough last night and the last time. I told you friends don't kiss.

Okay you can't go.

But I have to. Would you like to join me?

Then he winks at me and get up. I just made a heavy sigh and close my eyes. Oh boy!

We waited for only 15 minutes until we saw the wonderful palettes of the sky.

I didn't know sunrise can be this equally beautiful to sunset, or should I say more beautiful. It amazing!

I couldn't describe it Celine, it's like, it's unbelievable.

It's like finding depths to your soul, like you wanted to understand life and bring meaning to everything.

You once told me that sunset brings you serenity. And what is sunrise for you?

That sunrise is so early that we can't no longer go back to sleep. We just decided to walk bare feet at the sandy shores of its neighboring beaches. I'd love the feeling of these fine white sand as it created footprints as we passed by. And the small waves that is created by the sea as If poking on my toes.

I hope to see you happy like this every day, like the Celine I had in Aberdeen.

Oh, I'd love the nature Ae. It's so much refreshing.

How do you cope with Edward's fame?

Hmm... At first, I didn't like the idea, but I'm already accustomed to it. If I have a choice, I'd like to be out of the limelight, where I can enjoy myself. Like this one.

But being attach to me, or to Matt or anyone of us, you'll be always in the spotlight.

I guess, that's my faith.

We go back to the cabin after two hours of roaming around. All of them were already up and is now preparing our breakfast.

And where have you been? Matt greeted us.

We haven't saw you inside the tent, have you two kiss and make up? Chris directly asked.

I woke up early to see the sunrise. He just came along. I explained.

What? How was the sunrise here Celine? I hope I come with you. Lance said regrettably.

Hey Lance, leave that opportunity to Aeon. Bern replied.

Wait, why did you lock the door last night? Aeon complained.

Hahaha! Hmmm... Isn't it great? It was my idea in the first place. Matt boasted.

No, you didn't give us blankets. And it's so cold outside.

Hahaha! What's the use of your body heat? I thought you are the brightest kid in school, I'm so disappointed Aeon. Chris tease.

I let him sleep outside. I lied.

Really? Are you this slow Ae? Bern added.

Wait, wait, guys, from the five of us here, who has the least number of girlfriends? Matt again.

And he caved in after their breakup. Chris added.

Hahaha! You know what since its over for the two of you, why don't you come with me, I'll introduce you to women, they can give you experience, you know. And you can come Chris and Lance.

No thanks. Chris, Lance and Aeon said in chorus.

Celine, how did you let Aeon sleep outside? Bern asked concerned.

I beg for her last night, even kneel. But she rejected me.

O c'mon Ae, you can sleep now in that tent while we prepare here. Then I wink on him.

A mischievous grin can be seen on Aeon's face, while all his friends really believe that he slept outside. The awkwardness between us already faded. We can talk, laugh, even joke around without thinking of the past, of everything that all happened between us.

We left the Cape Disappointment around 10 in the morning, and another 20 hours ride awaits to us. Our journey is still long. We will encounter rough roads, zigzag, sleepery roads. The path is never been easy but our bond as friends is stronger, and will never falter.

Cape Disappointment helps us to overcome our fears, pains, demons, anger, disappointments. The things that we once thought all buried in the past and becomes forgotten, was able to bring back to the present, settled and sealed. This place thought us of forgiveness and acceptance, of the value of friendship and happiness, of moving on and letting go.
