The cold floor is all I can feel when my eyes open. My head is pounding from my drugged drink and my vision is blurred. Two male voices sound from both sides of me; one belongs to Craig, but I don't recognize the other.
"Who's this girl, Craig?" the voice sounds old and gruff, "Someone you picked up at a club?"
"No, sir," Craig's voice is hard and unemotional, "One of the most prized possession of the rebels."
"Good job, general. You'll surly be rewarded by President Byson for this feat."
"Hopefully," Craig shifts uncomfortably, "I wish only the best for this country."
The stranger chuckles, "Of course, my boy. Now, back to the subject, is the rebel's leader fate going as planned?"
"Dead by morning. Although, Dallas still hasn't told Kelly his true identity."
"Poor girl," the stranger sighs, "She's going to be heartbroken. Then again, if he were going to share that information, we would have no choice but to kill her. Well, I better be off now."
I hear footsteps and a door closing. Suddenly, I feel a boot connect to my temple and kick me over. My eyes clear and see I'm in a small metal cage.
"Welcome to the capital," Craig smiles sourly at me as I sit up; my head barely touches the top.
"Dallas is one of you too," I murmur.
"I told you," Craig kisses my forehead, "There are so many of us, Hayden."
I try to punch his head, but instead feel metal bars.
"Baby, if this relationship is going to work you have to stop hitting me," he smirks.
My spit flies into his eye and he recoils in disgust, but tries to remain calm, "President Byson won't appreciate this type of behavior. Be prepared to face the consequences."
"Who else is working for the government?" I ask.
"I would tell you but," Craig pauses for a smile, "That would ruin the feeling betrayal at its prime."
The sound of the door catches our attention and a woman walk in. My breath catches in my throat when I see her long, flowing, blonde hair that could be easily mistaken for white.
"Y-you!" I stutter, "Get me out of here! You did it once before!"
"Do you know her, Diana?" Craig looks at her, confused.
"No," she looks unfazed at him, "I've never seen her before. I'm here to tell you that President Byson wants to see you."
He goes pale but nods, "Thank you for informing me."
Craig rushes out and leaves me and Jasmine alone.
"Well," Diana takes a deep breath, "I was not expecting to see you."
"You let me go when I was tripped," I can barely recognize my voice as I speak, "Why? Why did you do that when I'm going to die here anyway?"
"Careful what you say, Hayden," Diana sits in a nearby chair and pulls it to my cage, "There is one questions I've been wanting to ask you."
She leans forward as the words leave her mouth, "What side are you on?"
